The pregame show had some random tribute to Torii, talking about how we were witnessing what it was like to truly be a man.
Yeah, that was sort of obnoxious.
Sort of? I didn't see it, but that sounds like the most obnoxious.
Linds has a hatred for Tommy Milone (something about the previous owner of Milone's current number). She just walked in, saw who was pitching, gave a disgusted sigh, and walked back out.
If he doesn't start finding the strike zone here today, I might be inclined to agree with her in the short term.
I'm okay with him as a 5th starter. But dude lives on the edge (of the plate). No margin for error.
Yeah. Lots of nibbling. If the umpire isn't giving you the benefit of the doubt on some marginal ones, you're in the trouble. If he doesn't give you pitches that nick the black, it's good to be a short start.
Of course, with all those bullpen arms y
You'd think with all those bullpen arms, I'd be less concerned about a potential short start, but yeah.
Deolis Guerra made his MLB debut today for the Pirates.
He did? It looks like Jeff Locke started for Pittsburgh
Looks like that should have been he debuted yesterday. However, Guerra relieved Locke to start the sixth today.
Aah, I was wondering, since I didn't think he was going to be starting.
so much nibbling.
Ack. Two batters too late to yell "Fiers in the Hole!"
I may have made a huge mistake today:
Black ipa in the kettle, its polar opposite in the glass and a huge mistake on the horizon. pic.twitter.com/ShtI2tSl4M— Jesse Peterson (@cheaptoyJP) June 28, 2015
Edit: That didn't work as well as I'd hoped.
This potential mistake has moved from visual to audible. There is now a rumbling on the horizon.
If the storm had waited ten more minutes, I would have been fine. Fortunately, that tarp kept the rain out of the wort.
the way Santana has hit so far this year, does it really matter whether the pitcher bats 8th or 9th?
Go, danny!
Someone needs to run the numbers on two pitchers batting. Maybe they should bat sixth and eighth.
Le Sigh.
Seriously, the Twins should just play station to station
Apparently, not a one of em listened to Plouffe's tweet from last week.
I am growing to hate challenges. The NFLization of MLB.
Ditto. Their buddies in New York are afraid to make them look bad.
They should hire me to do it, then. I'd be happy to make any umpire look a bad for reasonable compensation.
I live the idea. The execution has been unfortunate.
I love this typo. I'm now picturing you challenging things repeatedly at your place of employment and various other mundane activities.
this needs meme-ification.
Long, long challenge
Did Bert just compare a batter to a Native American?
...he may have...
The helmet chinstrap for Gomez is pretty great.
maybe need one for ... Nunez? Escobar?
Nunez would need two of them.
glove save, and a beauty!
Loving the strikeouts.
Tommy Milone's career high in Ks is ten (accomplished three times). Whoa. Smokes and Mirrors!
tommy with the supremacist inning.
3 walks now in 195 plate appearances for Santana now. Crazy. Can't succeed in the majors like that.
I'd be ok if Santana turned into Garry Templeton. 🙂
Get the bullpen ready.
small favors that Braun was running on that.
Dozier! Nice play
Yikes. Escaped that one.
How about some offense, guys?
Dozier with another fantastic glove flip
Pussy single? check.
Uno? Oy.
Just a fly ball. Just a fly ball. Just a fly ball.
Just a double. Just a double. Just a double.
whew.
Mauer reminded me of Morneau scoring in the all star game in extra innings there.
Sigh. Remember when the Twins were awesome with runners in scoring position? I miss those days.
I no longer do, no.
gaaah.
Girl: Excuse me, what's a nine-letter word for "Terrific?"
Will: That's easy: "Will Smith."
crap. Time to go to the gym.
That's a big ol' pile of ugh.
Whelp.
Santana over Vargas? What?
I don't agree with this decision.
Still don't, but it had a good outcome.
Can't watch that one, Dozier.
Like my pappy always said, never strike out looking.
There are two drafts of a game log for this tilt that didn't publish ... don't know why, but the gist was, even as he inches closer to Puckett for 6th on the Twins HR list, Torii will never be ahead of Kirby on my list of favorite Twins players. That being said, today's HR was one of the few really bright spots in what is becoming an annoying recurrence: Twins losing due to a complete lack of offense.
STOP. RUNNING. ON. LUCROY.
Natch basepaths...

Lowest ratios of OBA to BA in modern baseball history.
I'd be ok if Santana turned into Garry Templeton. 🙂
