Jose Berrios made his season debut in Rochester, but Michael Tonkin was the awesome pitcher in the game. Jorge Polanco had a good day for the Lookouts, but no one else did. It was Kanzler v. Voit in the Miracle game. Not much offense for the Kernels. A walkoff single for the GCL Twins. Yeltsin and Zaino lead the DSL Twins.
ROCHESTER 6, LEHIGH VALLEY 5 IN LEHIGH VALLEY (16 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Oswaldo Arcia was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer (his third) and two runs. Eric Fryer was 1-for-5 with a two-run homer and a walk. Reynaldo Rodriguez was 1-for-6 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.
Pitching stars: Michael Tonkin pitched three perfect innings, striking out eight of the nine men he faced. Logan Darnell struck out six in three shutout innings, giving up three hits and three walks. A. J. Achter struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks.
Opposition stars: Tyler Henson was 4-for-6 with three doubles and two RBIs. Jordan Danks was 2-for-5 with a double and a walk, scoring once. Edgar Duran was 1-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.
The game: Arcia hit a two-run homer in the first to give the Red Wings a 2-0 lead, but the IronPigs got two in the third to tie it. Fryer hit a two-run homer in a three-run third to give the Red Wings a 5-2 lead, but once again the IronPigs came back, getting two in the fifth on a two-run double by Henson and one in the sixth on a double play. And then, nothing much happened until the sixteenth, when Eric Farris singled, took second on a bunt, and scored on a Nate Hanson single. The IronPigs got a man to third with two out in the bottom of the sixteenth, but a strikeout ended the game.
Of note: Farris was 1-for-6 with a run. James Beresford was 1-for-6 with a run. Jose Berrios pitched 5.2 innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
BIRMINGHAM 3, CHATTANOOGA 1 IN CHATTANOOGA (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Jorge Polanco was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Stuart Turner was 1-for-2 with a walk. Travis Harrison was 1-for-3 with a run.
Pitching star: Alex Muren pitched two perfect innings with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Rob Brantly was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Danny Hayes was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Myles Jaye pitched six shutout innings, allowing three hits and three walks with three strikeouts.
The game: The Barons scored all three runs in the first inning and made it hold up. Hayes had a two-run single and Brantly had an RBI double. The Lookouts left the bases loaded in the first but did not score. They also threatened in the fifth, putting men on first and second with none out. The Lookouts finally got on the board in the seventh, and again had the bases loaded with one out, but a double play ended the game.
Of note: Kennys Vargas was 1-for-3. Max Kepler was 0-for-2 with a walk. Adam Brett Walker II was 0-for-2 with a walk. David Hurlbut pitched five innings, giving up three runs on six hits and four walks with three strikeouts.
BIRMINGHAM 6, CHATTANOOGA 1 IN CHATTANOOGA (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Jorge Polanco was 2-for-4 with a double. Max Kepler was 1-for-4 with a double and a run. Mike Gonzales was 1-for-3 with a double.
Pitching stars: None.
Opposition stars: Christian Marrero was 2-for-3 with a home run (his tenth) and a double, scoring three times. Adrian Nieto was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Danny Hayes was 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.
The game: The Barons again scored three in the first, getting a two-run double from Nieto. The Lookouts never got closer than three. They scored their lone run in the third on an RBI single by Adam Brett Walker II which made the score 4-1. The Barons added single runs in the sixth and seventh.
Of note: Levi Michael was 0-for-2 with a walk. Kennys Vargas was 0-for-2 with two walks. Walker II was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Alex Wimmers pitched five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
PALM BEACH 4, FORT MYERS 3 IN PALM BEACH (10 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Jason Kanzler was 2-for-5 with a home run (his sixth) and a double, driving in three. Mitch Garver was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Michael Quesada was 0-for-2 with two walks and a run.
Pitching star: Matt Summers pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and no walks with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Luke Voit was 3-for-5 with a home run (his tenth) and two doubles, driving in four. Danny Diekroeger was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run. Silfredo Garcia pitched three shutout innings, allowing a hit and a walk.
The game: Voit doubled in two in the first, but Kanzler double din two in the second to tie it 2-2. Kanzler homered in the top of the fifth to make it 3-2, but Voit doubled in another run in the bottom of the fifth to tie it 3-3. There was no more scoring until the tenth, when Voit struck again, this time hitting a walkoff home run to give the Cardinals the victory.
Of note: Alex Swim was 1-for-5. Ryan Eades struck out five in four innings, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks.
BURLINGTON 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN BURLINGTON
Batting stars: T. J. White was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Edgar Corcino was 1-for-3 with a walk. Brett Doe was 1-for-4 with a double.
Pitching stars: Luke Bard pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and no walks with two strikeouts. Cameron Booser struck out three in three innings, giving up an unearned run on a hit and a walk.
Opposition stars: Tim Arakawa was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run. Nick Flair was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Justin Anderson struck out five in five innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks.
The game: A double and four walks produced three runs for the Bees in the second, giving them a 3-0 lead. Nick Gordon singled in a run in the third, but the Kernels left the bases loaded. They left two more on in the fourth and never threatened after that. The Bees added an insurance run on the seventh.
Of note: Tanner English was 0-for-4. Gordon was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Alex Real was 0-for-4. Rafael P. Valera was 0-for-2 with a walk. Jared Wilson pitched 1.2 innings, giving up three hits and four walks with no strikeouts.

Batting stars: Jermaine Palacios was 3-for-6 with a run and an RBI. Luis Arraez was 3-for-6 with an RBI. Lewin Diaz was 2-for-3 with two walks and a run.
Pitching stars: Miguel Gonzalez struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up no hits and no walks. Chris Mazza pitched two shutout innings, giving up one walk with one strikeout. Yorman Landa pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits.
Opposition stars: Rafael Oliveras was 3-for-4 with two walks, scoring once and driving in one. Isaias Lucena was 1-for-4 with two walks and a run. Javier Rodriguez pitched four innings, allowing three hits and three walks with one strikeout.
The game: The Red Sox scored two in the first on one hit, getting help from two walks, a wild pitch, and two passed balls. Palacios singled in a run in the bottom of the first, but the Red Sox got it back in the second on three singles. It stayed 3-1 until the sixth, when two singles and an error tied the score. The Twins loaded the bases in the seventh and the Red Sox loaded the bases in the eighth, but neither team scored. The Red Sox again loaded the bases in the thirteenth, but a caught stealing at home ended the inning. In the bottom of the thirteenth the first two batters went out, but a single, a walk, and an Arraez single ended the game.
Of note: Trey Cabbage was 1-for-5 with a run. Luis Hernandez pitched two innings, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks with no strikeouts.
DSL TWINS 4, DSL RED SOX1 2 AT RED SOX1
Batting stars: Yeltsin Encarnacion was 2-for-5 with a double and a run. Zaino Henriquez was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jose Bermudez was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.
Pitching stars: Huascar Ynoa pitched four innings, giving up one run on two hits and four walks with three strikeouts. Erick Balbuena pitched two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk. Carlos Suniaga pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks with two strikeouts.
Opposition stars: Hemerson Serven was 2-for-5 with a triple. Pablo Urena was 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Hildemaro Requena pitched four shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks with three strikeouts.
The game: Each team scored once in the first. Henriquez singled in a run in the second and the Twins added two in the third to go ahead 4-1. The Red Sox1 scored in the eighth but did not get the tying run on base.
