Batting stars: Jorge Polanco was 3-for-5 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one. Chris Herrmann was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Reynaldo Rodriguez was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
Pitching stars: Tyler Duffey pitched 6.1 innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on four hits and no walks with five strikeouts. Aaron Thompson pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit with one strikeout. A. J. Achter pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Todd Cunningham was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, scoring twice. Daniel Castro was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Williams Perez struck out seven in 3.1 innings, allowing one run on two hits and one walk.
The game: Rodriguez singled in a run in the first and Polanco singled one home in the fifth to give the Red Wings a 2-0 lead. The Braves tied it 2-2 in the top of the sixth, but Herrmann singled home a run in the bottom of the sixth to put the Red Wings back up 3-2. In the seventh, however, Cunningham hit a two-run homer to cap a three-run inning that left the Braves ahead 5-3. The Red Wings had two on in the seventh and brought the tying run up to bat in the eighth and the ninth, but could not score again.
Of note: Oswaldo Arcia was 1-for-4 with a double and a run.
MONTGOMERY 8, CHATTANOOGA 4 IN CHATTANOOGA (10 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Marcus Knecht was 0-for-2 with three walks and two runs. Kennys Vargas was 1-for-3 with two walks and an RBI.
Pitching stars: Tim Shibuya pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk with one strikeout. Brandon Peterson pitched two shutout innings, giving up a walk with one strikeout. Jake Reed pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Dayron Verona was 3-for-6 with a triple, scoring once and driving in two. Leonardo Reginatto was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in two. Tyler Goeddel was 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs.
The game: Patrick Leonard singled in two in the first and the Biscuits added two in the second to give them a 4-0 lead. The Lookouts came back in the bottom of the second, scoring three times without a hit on three walks, a hit batsman, and two more walks. Heiker Meneses singled in a run in the third to tie it 4-4. And there things stood until the tenth. The go-ahead run was walked home, but Reginatto followed with a two-run double and Verona singled home another. The Lookouts put two on in the bottom of the tenth.
Of note: Levi Michael was 1-for-4 with a walk. Max Kepler was 0-for-3 with two walks and an RBI. Adam Brett Walker II was 0-for-5. Alex Wimmers pitched three innings, giving up four runs on four hits and five walks with three strikeouts.
FORT MYERS 2, JUPITER 1 IN FORT MYERS (16 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Jason Kanzler was 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, and a walk, scoring once. Chad Christensen was 2-for-5 with two walks and an RBI. Engelb Vielma was 3-for-6 with a walk.
Pitching stars: Chih-Wei Hu pitched six innings, giving up an unearned run on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts. Brian Gilbert struck out two in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks. Dallas Gallant pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hits and two walks.
Opposition stars: Avery Romero was 2-for-5 with a walk and a run. Yefri Perez was 2-for-7 with a double. Luis Castillo pitched five shutout innings, allowing four hits and three walks with three strikeouts.
The game: The Hammerheads scored in the fifth with a sacrifice fly double play, and it looked like that might be enough. In the ninth, however, Kanzler hit a one-out triple and scored on Christensen's single to send the game to extra innings. A lot of extra innings. In the sixteenth, Kanzler came through again, doubling with a man on first to put runners on second and third with none out. An intentional walk loaded the bases and a Logan Wade sacrifice fly brought home the winning run.
Of note: Mitch Garver was 0-for-7. Brett Doe was 0-for-7.
CEDAR RAPIDS 6, WISCONSIN 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS
Batting stars: Pat Kelly was 2-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in two. Tanner English was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and two runs. Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
Pitching stars: Felix Jorge struck out seven in seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk. Luke Bard pitched two shutout innings, giving up no hits and no walks with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Alan Sharkey was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once. Elvis Rubio was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Sthervin Matos was 1-for-3 with a triple and a run.
The game: The teams went back-and-forth for a while, with the score 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, and then 3-2, with the Kernels leading each time. English's homer in the fifth made it 3-2 and was followed by a three-run sixth that put the game out of reach. Kelly had a two-run single-plus error in the sixth inning. The Timber Rattlers had only one hit after that.
Of note: Edgar Corcino was 1-for-4. Alex Real was 0-for-4. Austin Diemer was 2-for-4.
PRINCETON 7, ELIZABETHTON 6 IN ELIZABETHTON
Batting stars: Daniel Kihle was 1-for-2 with three walks and three runs. Travis Blankenhorn was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer. Chris Paul was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Opposition stars: Brett Sullivan was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a triple, scoring twice. David Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs. Kewby Meyer was 2-for-4 with a home run, his third.
The game: Paul doubled in two in the fifth to give the Twins a 4-2 lead, but Sullivan and Meyer each homered in the sixth to tie it 4-4. Blankenhorn hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to restore the Twins' two-run lead at 6-4, but Zachry Law tripled in a run in the seventh to make it 6-5 and the Rays got two in the eighth to go ahead 7-6. The Twins twice got the tying run on base but could not advance him past first.
Of note: A. J. Murray was 0-for-3. Amaurys Minier was 1-for-4 with a run. Rainis Silva was 1-for-4. Alexis Tapia pitched six innings, giving up four runs on seven hits and no walks with four strikeouts.

Opposition stars: Jaylen Ferguson was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Jason Heinrich was 1-for-4 with a home run. Gerrion Grim was 1-for-3 with a double and a run.
The game: The Twins scored two in the third to go ahead 3-1, but that was as good as it got. It was 3-2 after three and the Orioles took the lead with two in the fifth, tying the score on Ferguson's RBI single and taking the lead on an error. The Twins threatened in the ninth, putting men on first and second with one out, but a line drive double play ended the game.
Of note: Luis Arraez was 0-for-4. Jermaine Palacios was 1-for-4. Lachlan Wells pitched 4.1 innings, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
DSL TWINS 12, DSL YANKEES1 10 AT YANKEES1
Batting stars: Jean Carlos Arias was 4-for-5 with a home run (his second), and two triples, scoring three times and driving in five. Emmanuel Morel was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in two. Francisco Hernandez was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Opposition stars: Nelson Gomez was 2-for-5 with a home run (his tenth) and a double, scoring twice and driving in four. Nelson Alvarez was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his fourth) and a walk. Frederick Cuevas was 2-for-3 with two walks and a run.
The game: Morel had a two-run single in a three-run third that put the Twins ahead 5-3. It was 6-4 after three, but the Twins put together another three-run inning in the fourth to go ahead 9-4. Arias hit a three-run homer in the seventh to make it 12-6. The Yankees1 scored four runs in the ninth and had men on second and third with one out, but a strikeout and a ground out ended the game.
Of note: Antonio Tovar was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Danny Feliz struck out four in two innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on two his and two walks.
