Minor Details: Games of September 6

Doug Bernier and Josmil Pinto lead the Red Wings.  Shannon Wilkerson carries the Lookouts to a comeback extra-inning win.  Ryan Walker and Zach Granite have good days in a Miracle loss.  Nick Gordon and Randy LeBlanc come through for the Kernels.

ROCHESTER 5, LEHIGH VALLEY 1 IN LEHIGH VALLEY

Batting starsDoug Bernier was 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.  Josmil Pinto was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run.  Danny Ortiz was 1-for-4 with a walk and two runs.

Pitching starsMichael Bowden struck out five in 5.1 innings, giving up one run on seven hits and two walks.  Loek van Mil pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.  Aaron Thompson retired all four men he faced with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  Chris Leroux pitched 5.1 scoreless innings of relief, allowing a hit and two walks with one strikeout.  Tyler Pastornicky was 3-for-5.  Gabriel Lino was 1-for-4 with a double and a run.

The game:  The Red Wings scored three in the second and two in the third to take control early.  Each rally was aided by an error.  The lone IronPigs run came in the third inning.

Of noteEric Farris was 0-for-5.  James Beresford was 1-for-5.  Reynaldo Rodriguez was 1-for-5.

CHATTANOOGA 11, JACKSON 10 IN CHATTANOOGA (10 INNINGS)

Batting starsShannon Wilkerson was 4-for-6 with a triple and a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Jorge Polanco was 2-for-5 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in one.  Travis Harrison was 1-for-3 with three walks, scoring once and driving in one.

Pitching starsBrandon Peterson struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up two walks.  D. J. Johnson struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits.

Opposition stars:  Marcus Littlewood was 3-for-4 with a home run (his seventh) and a walk, scoring twice and driving in three.  Tyler Smith was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Leon Landry was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in two.

The game:  The Generals led by scored of 8-1 and 10-5, but the Lookouts scored once in the seventh and four times in the eighth to tie it 10-10.  In the tenth, a hit batsman, a Wilkerson double, and an intentional walk loaded the bases and an error brought home the winning run.

Of noteMax Kepler was 1-for-4 with two walks, scoring once and driving in one.  Adam Brett Walker II was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Brett Lee pitched 5.1 innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk with one strikeout.

CHARLOTTE 5, FORT MYERS 1 IN FORT MYERS

Batting starsRyan Walker was 2-for-2 with a double and a run.  Zach Granite was 2-for-3 with a double.  Engelb Vielma was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Pitching starsLuke Westphal struck out five in 4.2 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) despite nine hits and a walk.  Tyler Jay pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a walk with one strikeout.  Alex Muren pitched a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Justin Williams was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Mike Marjama was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Maxx Tissenbaum was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.

The gameLogan Wade singled in a run in the first, but that was it for the Miracle.  The run held up for a while, but Marjama doubled in two in the fifth, Williams singled one home in the sixth, and the Stone Crabs added two in the eighth.

Of noteMitch Garver was 0-for-2.  Wade was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

CEDAR RAPIDS 3, CLINTON 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Batting starsNick Gordon was 2-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Austin Diemer was 2-for-3 with a run.  T. J. White was 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Pitching starsRandy LeBlanc pitched six innings, giving up a run on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Luke Bard struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and two walks.  Nick Anderson pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  Zack Littell pitched five shutout innings, allowing two hits and no walks with one strikeout.  Kodi Kerski struck out four in 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits.

The game:  The LumberKings led 1-0 after five, but the Kernels scored three times in the sixth.  Gordon tripled in the tying run and scored the go-ahead run.  The LumberKings did not get a hit after the fourth inning.

Of noteSean Miller was 0-for-4.  Edgar Corcino was 1-for-4.
