Players of the Week: Week of August 17

Just for the sake of completeness, we will present the Players of the Week for the last three weeks of the minor league season over the course of the day.

ROCHESTER RED WINGS (3-3)

Batter:  Nobody, really, but Danny Santana was 6-for-22 with two doubles and a triple.  For the season he is hitting .267/.304/.405 in 116 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Pat Dean made one start, pitching nine innings.  He gave up no runs on six hits and no walks with six strikeouts.  For the season he is 10-10, 2.92, 1.18 WHIP with 33 walks and 92 strikeouts in 157 innings (24 starts).

CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS (2-3)

Batter:  Max Kepler was 9-for-20 with a home run, a double, and four walks.  For the season he is hitting .342/.424/.572 and is 16-for-20 in stolen bases in 360 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Brett Lee made one start, pitching seven innings.  He gave up no runs on two hits and four walks with four strikeouts.  For the season he is 5-4, 3.14, 1.19 WHIP with 25 walks and 33 strikeouts in 77.1 innings (13 starts).

FORT MYERS MIRACLE (4-3)

Batter:  Logan Wade was 11-for-22 with a triple and a double.  For the season he is hitting .256/.293/.365 in 293 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Omar Bencomo made one start, pitching seven innings.  He gave up no runs on three hits and no walks with four strikeouts.  For the season he is 1-1, 1.50, 0.89 WHIP with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts in 18 innings (3 starts).

CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS (3-3)

Batter:  T. J. White was 8-for-20 with two doubles and three walks.  For the season he is hitting .247/.344/.338 and is 12-for-15 in stolen bases in 328 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Sam Gibbons made one start, pitching eight innings.  He gave up no runs on one hit and no walks with twelve strikeouts.  For the season he is 7-3, 2.72, 1.11 WHIP with 20 walks and 63 strikeouts in 79.1 innings (13 starts).

ELIZABETHTON TWINS (3-3)

Batter:  LaMonte Wade was 8-for-20 with a home run, a triple, five walks, and two stolen bases.  For the season he is hitting .311/.427/.515 and is 7-for-8 in stolen bases in 196 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Andro Cutura made one start, pitching six innings.  He gave up no runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts.  For the season he is 3-2, 1.08, 0.90 WHIP with 12 walks and 37 strikeouts in 50 innings (9 starts).

GCL TWINS (1-5)

Batter:  Rowan Ebersohn was 6-for-15 with a double and a walk.  For the season he is hitting .203/.231/.257 in 74 at-bats.

Pitcher:  Lachlan Wells made one start, pitching five innings.  He gave up one run on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts.  For the season he is 5-2, 2.09, 0.97 WHIP with 11 walks and 49 strikeouts in 47.1 innings (9 starts, 1 relief appearance).

DSL TWINS (4-2)
