Okay, so, a few quick points:
-Thank you everyone for submitting, and some of you way too much (the request was pretty specific, right?). I haven't gone through the last post's SPOILERs, but according to the compiler, the number of submissions wildly exceed the number of submitters (which was a no-no).
-I really wanted to get a chance to create and edit a much more concise list, but several factors conspired against me.
-As such, whatever, I just slapped whatever everyone submitted together in Spotify list for all that want to spice up their Halloweekends (probably best to play it on shuffle).
-We'll do this better next year (ha! fat chance).
-Also, to whomever requested the Barn Owl screeches, they were not available on said streaming music service.
Pete does this next, right?
Oops. That's largely my fault. I submitted six.
I'm up next? Good times.
Unless things were traded, next week begins Magoo's turn.
Nibs, you have to wait until February.
It wasn't just you . . . there were 27 tracks submitted by 14 people. Only 7 people submitted just one song.

5. Had this not shown up, something from the album would have been a bonus. Zack recommended it a while ago but I first got around to listening to it this week. Dang this is fantastic. I'd been unable to penetrate HEALTH except for the one new song ("USA BOYS") on their most recent remix collection. That song didn't really fit well with the rest of their work, but it fits with this album of bigger anthems, unburied vox, and Tarot Sport aesthetics. The cohesive lyrics expressing resignation, relativism, and anti-romance are a big plus.
7. Download-only bonus track?
Coincidentally, this is the kind of Wizard that the boy intends to portray at school today. (His Mom made him a pretty sweet cloak.)
Here's hoping there isn't any disciplinary action due to threatening spells cast. Not really a joke.
Not really a joke.
I believe it. He can commit to an idea.
Update: Apparently he did not make the bus this morning, because not being able to wear the costume until the designated time this afternoon was just TOO MUCH to deal with. Things escalated quickly from there.
7. Download-only bonus track?
Pretty sure. There's another one on there too.
[...]
Or not. Looks like they're just included.
Oh awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm guessing I will be spinning it a ton with the perpetual gloom that will set in for the next 7 months.
See, I think they work better for sunbleached pointless afternoons/summer evenings where its too hot to move.
/Of course that's what I used "USA BOYS" for
Perhaps we should comb the FMD archives to come up with a list of suspects
One could find some mp3s here.
This may be the same clip I was thinking of:

Even with the Modest Mouse track I have to admit that this is a pretty rad list Scot.
I feel like this requires either an acceptance speech or a defense of Modest Mouse.

BT. Julien Baker - "Something" from Sprained Ankle
This month has been spectacular for music. U.S. Girls, Julien Baker, and Childbirth are all probably going to end up in my Top 10.
Seriously, this Julien Baker is incredibly good. You should check it out! Especially E-6, Pepper, and hungry joe.
It still looks like the album cover is a photo of teenaged Polly Jean Harvey.
I'll listen later... carving is finished, seeds in the oven... Great Pumpkin time.
Wow. Thanks, Zack. I put it on the background while doing dishes just now, and I'll definitely be listing more.
Hey AMR, what's your method for roasting pumpkin seeds? That's on the docket for tomorrow.
I soak in salty water, pat dry, mix with a teeny bit of oil, then toast in a non-teflon pan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until crisp. Or on a cookie sheet in a 300-deg oven, stirring occasionally. It takes 10-15 min.
oven method is how I roll, but usually not until the day after Halloween.
I've tried lots of methods. EAR did it last night. I tried a few and got some of the hull stuck in my braces in a really painful way.

This might be the first Iron Maiden song to make a list that isn't mine.
Heh. I even had a split-second thought to doff the hat in your direction. This song first came to me via my Pandora "cheaptoy station" ... for real.
My boy just FBed that he got snuck backstage for tonight's Walt Mink reunion show. I hate him.
My first thought was that your boy is WAY too young to be going to concerts without you. Then I realized . . . oh, wait . . . never mind.
My boy texted me a photo of seven bombers he and his friends were sampling tonight (Delirium Tremens, a Rogue Voodoo, La Merle from North Coast, Stone Vertical Epic, Stone Elderberry something something, Surly Darkness, and a barleywine from Clown Shoes). That's my boy.
Surly Darkness? How did he get that?
He's a Carleton student. In the suburbs at his roommate's house.
Ahh, forgot about that point. That makes way more sense.
The peperoncino and I listened to the portion of the HalloWGOMeen mix tonight. Here are the responses he had.
"It's Only the End of the World" by Harley Poe: "Again!"
"Consumed" by The Haxan Cloak: "Oh, no!" (said during the beginning of the song)
"Wolf Like Me" by TV on the Radio: "I want to dance."
"I Put a Spell On You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins: "Are those monsters? I want to scare those monsters." Then he roared at the computer. (This was in reaction to the album cover.)
