My computer was doing very bizarre things last night. I would be typing as normal and suddenly the picture would zoom about 1000% or so, and though I could move the cursor, I could no longer actually type anything. I have gremlins, man.
I find the zooming thing can happen if you (accidentally) scroll while holding Control. On a laptop it's easier to trigger with poor palm rejection of the touchpad.
