I was just wondering when the last time was we had rain without lightning. I missed gentle rains where there's no threat of death if I venture outside.
The dog would like to sleep somewhere besides under the bed, too.
We had some of that a few nights ago in the northern burbs. Harper doesn't mind playing Frisbee in the rain, but she is not down with thunder and lightning.
Seriously though, it is stupid hot here today. I lucked out and got a seat in the shade, though.
The WGOM meetup in KC a few years back was ridiculously hot. I put a wet paper towel under my hat. It hat to be re-wettened after each inning as it dried out that quickly.
I was also at an ICubs game with my uncle once where we couldn't even lean back in our seats they were so hot to the touch. We left after each team got a hit, so we didn't miss a no-no.
I think it was this game. Box says temperature at game start was 91.
97 today.
That was the right game. Thankfully there is all that black asphalt parking lot to cool things down.
Whoops, had a dyslexic moment and sat in 214 instead of 241. Take that image and reverse it.
Still in the shade?
I am, indeed. Although now I'm in front of an extremely vulgar old dude.
On a related note, listening to old people complain about the shift is amusing.

Considers forbidden zone joke. Leaves it at that.
I forbiddenly laughed.
Now they're complaining about inflation.
When I was a kid, we had real inflation!
Ha! They are being even more stereotypical than that, somehow.
Actually, I meant that. Inflation nowadays isn't what it used to be, and if they were complaining about inflation, they need to reset their expectations.
I was right there with ya. They were way too stereotypical old people to have the capacity to reset expectations.
Dido.
The royals have gotten nothing going today, so of course Drew Butera hits a double.
He's really trying to ruin his string of seasons not topping the mendoza line (he's come one hit awayfourtimes!)

Wow. The Cubs just raised the price for left-handed relievers. No wonder the Twins called up Boshers.
