Minor Details: Games of July 21

Byung Ho Park and Adam Brett Walker II go deep for the Red Wings.  Not much offense for the other full-season clubs.  The E-Twins tried to make up for that.

ROCHESTER 6, SYRACUSE 1 IN ROCHESTER

Byung Ho Park hit a three-run homer (his third) in a four-run first that led the Red Wings to a win.  Andrew Albers threw 108 pitches in a complete game, giving up one run on six hits and no walks with five strikeouts.  Adam Brett Walker II was 3-for-4 with a home run, his nineteenth.  Daniel Palka was 3-for-4 and is batting .319.

JACKSON 6, CHATTANOOGA 0 IN JACKSON

The Generals scored one in the first and it was all they needed.  The Lookouts had only two hits, both by D. J. Hicks, who was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Zach Granite was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .302.  David Hurlbut pitched six innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and three walks with one strikeout.

CLEARWATER 3, FORT MYERS 2 IN CLEARWATER

Down 3-2 after six, the Miracle scored single runs in the seventh and eighth but had the tying run thrown out at the plate in the eighth and did not get another man on base.  Randy LeBlanc struck out six in six innings, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks.  Reynaldo Rodriguez, on a rehab assignment, was 1-for-4 with a home run.  LaMonte Wade was 0-for-4 and is batting .355.  Nick Gordon was 0-for-4 and is batting .303.

BOWLING GREEN 3, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The Kernels got one in the first inning but could do no more, and single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth gave the victory to the Hot Rods.  Dereck Rodriguez had his third consecutive good game despite losing, going 7.1 innings and giving up three runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout.  Kuo Hua Lo pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, dropping his ERA to 1.49.  Nelson Molina was 2-for-4 with a triple.  Luis Arraez was 0-for-4 and is batting .338.

ELIZABETHTON 17, KINGSPORT 3 IN ELIZABETHTON

The Twins had three four-run innings, including one in the first, on their way to an easy win.  Everyone in the Twins lineup had at least one hit and seven of them had at least two.  Shane Carrier was 3-for-5 with a home run (his second) and two doubles.  Alex Kirilloff was 3-for-5 with a walk and is batting .346.  Andre Jernigan was 3-for-5 with a double.  Brandon Lopez was 2-for-4 and is batting .353 with an OBP of .507.  Robert Molina was 2-for-5, tripling his number of hits on the season and raising his average to .079.

GCL RAYS 4, GCL TWINS 3 AT TWINS (12 INNINGS)

Having played fifteen innings the day before, the two teams took it easy and only played twelve.  The go-ahead run scored on a leadoff double, an intentional walk, and two accidental walks.  Huascar Ynoa pitched four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Callan Pearce pitched two-thirds of an inning and did not give up a run, so his ERA remains zero through 12.2 innings.  The Twins had only four hits.  Roni Tapia was used as a pinch-hitter and was 0-for-1, dropping his average to .037 (1-for-27).

DSL DIAMONDBACKS2 10, DSL TWINS 8 AT TWINS

The Twins trailed 7-1 and 10-4, but managed to make a game of it, putting the go-ahead run on base in the ninth before losing.  Carlos Suniaga had his first bad game of the season, surrendering seven runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in four innings.  Edgar Herrera was 4-for-5 with a double and is batting .324.  Juan Martinez was 3-for-5 with a home run and a triple.  Jorge Parra was 0-for-6 and is batting .318.
