I just got here. Looks like Dozier led off with a double, Kepler singled him home, and Plouffe doubled home Kepler.
Nightly wild pitch out of the way.
And it didn't hurt us!
They seem more common with Centeno catching.
Plenty of seat available for this tilt.
Error extends inning, two run home run follows.
yeesh
I was away then--apparently it was scored a hit but should've been an error?
Dozier was trying to do his "slide to the left, pop up and throw" routine and the ball dribbled away from him.
No way that was an error. Would have been fantastic play. He was on the grass directly behind second base.
Pitcher's best friend!
I would complain less about all the bunting if we had some people who were actually any good at it.
SOMEDAY will get a real buntmeister, but until then we have to put up with posers.
That's a lot better than a bunt!
I love it when a guy doesn't get the bunt down then does something much better with 2 strikes, which he should have been trying to do in the first place. See? Isn't this better?
Wow. Flaherty tore up Polanco. Three pitches, all on the edge of the strike zone. The first two outside edge and strike three on the inside edge, at least according to Gameday.
Stephen Gonsalves threw six hitless innings for Chattanooga tonight. He was removed at that point due to pitch count (105). He struck out nine and walked two. There will be no combined no-hitter, as reliever Alan Busenitz has given up a hit.
With all the turnover in Rochester, I'm surprised he's still in Chattanooga.
He's only had nine starts there (actually ten counting tonight). I wouldn't object to moving him up, but I'm not upset that they've left him there, either.
I like it a lot better when the other team throws wild pitches than I do when we do it.
Before tonight, Johan Santana was the only Twins pitcher in the DH era to get 5 PAs in a game. He did it on June 19, 2007 in a 9-0 shutout of the Mets. He had 1 K and threw just 92 pitches.
And a double.
Thats the game where Bert Blyleven made a bet with Johan that he couldnt get a complete game. Johan won, Bert shaved his head.
2 of the best pitchers in Twins history were also 2 of the greatest personalities in Twins history. Happy Birthday!
