It looks like I'll have 2 extra Legends Club seats for tonight's game. Cost is 1 Surly each.
Still a good deal, but we can assume that's a $10 Surly, then?
Pretty safe assumption.
But I'm not opposed to you smuggling one in!
Seeing Alien: Covenant this morning. The one negative comment among the positives has been along the lines of "We've seen this before" or "No real new ground is trod." With this series, I guess that's not a deterrent for me.
I've always been a little annoyed by that criticism. If you want new ground to be trod, shouldn't you be watching the first of something? I would expect sequels to trod the same ground as a way of furthering whatever story is being told. Isn't that why its a sequel?
Really, as long as it's not rehashing the same plot, I'm on board.
I can even get past that somewhat. See: Force Awakens, The.
but not D2: Mighty Ducks, The
At the very least, I learned that Iceland is very nice while Greenland is made of ice.
But, but, USA?!? Doesn't the international angle make it so much different????
That is the one problem I had with The Force Awakens.
I just look at that as a reminder that I'm not the target audience.
For that franchise, I look like it a bit like a fugue. The same themes, passed around from character to character. Mainly the moments I didn't love in TFA were the inside joke-y moments, but at the same time, those keep the whole thing from taking itself too seriously so I kind of like the overall effect.
Speaking of Star Wars, I saw Rogue One recently and I thought the strongest aspect of it was that the locations were really beautiful. And beauty may be only skin deep, but it's still nice to look at.
I'm back. Honestly, I don't give the criticism a lot of merit. Yes, we have a strong female lead and there are aliens ripping apart soldiers, but the main hook of this storyline was new for the series. So...is the criticism simply suggesting that they didn't want to see an alien killing people in an Alien movie for some reason? I guess so.

Dude, spoiler that!!
I laffed
The Milkmaid and I are heading to Updown in Uptown in an hour or so if anyone else feels like heading there to say hey. Hopefully we'll be there for a while.
I drive by it on my way home. I might stop by.
The only time I went there it was butts to nuts and one of the guys there with us worked on the crew that installed the HVAC system. He enjoyed telling us about how poorly designed it was for keeping the place cool with all those games in there.
I still haven't found any takers for tickets to tonight's game.

So, this is happening.
Are people yelling "Nooooooooooo!" like campaign workers at the election night party when their candidate concedes an election?
