Shortstops are catching, catchers are pitching, Gardys and Sloweys living together... mass hysteria!

Good morning from Madison. Not a great day yesterday but we didn't get going until way too late. We have farther to go than yesterday but we won't be leaving at 3 again.
I did get to cross off "cat escapes from carrier while on highway" though.
Wow.
Ugh, here's hoping today goes better than yesterday!
Nope! We'd be ahead if not for that time zone thing.
Yay, Chicago. I've been following Eve Ewing and Jamila Woods (grabbed her album recently) a bit lately. Also, that's one of the few poems I have memorized (or at least thought I did until I hit the 3rd stanza in my head).
The syncopation in Brooks's* reading is so interesting to me. I wouldn't have read the poem that way, but it's really striking.
*no, not you, DG
Chris Giminez is now the Twins' all-time leader in pitching done by a non-pitcher. In 2 months.
4 appearances this year. And it's June. Yeesh.
Assuming we don't count players like Willie Smith (who was transitioning away from pitched in 1964) or Bob Bowman (who briefly attempted to transition to pitcher in his final season of 1959), or Kerby Farrel (who had pitched quite a bit in the minors), you have to go back to Eddie Lake in 1944 to find a position player who pitched in four or more games without having been a pitcher in the minor leagues.
On the plus side, he has the lowest WHIP of anybody on the Twins pitching staff this season.
That 7.39 FIP tells me that his low WHIP is not sustainable.
With Mike Trout being on the shelf for a week or so, he has now been passed in bWAR came you name this player?
His career high coming into this season was 2.7. Yeah, I don't think this is sustainable for him.
Going into his June 7 game a year ago, he had an .861 OPS. He had a .652 OPS for the rest of the season. His career splits show he's a much better hitter in the first half.
Found out my youngest brother is also going to need hip(s?) replacement. Genetics is a b!tch.
Let's see what the Cavs have left in the tank for the 2nd.
Oof.
Looked like they had plenty left, but they put diesel in a gas engine.
Also, Cleveland deserved that for those awful "The Land" shirts they gave everybody,

"We Real Cool" just got even cooler.
