It was tied 3-3 after nine.  Mesa scored one in the top of the tenth.  In the bottom of the tenth, Peoria's Michael Chavis (Boston) led off the inning with a two-run homer, something that's only possible due to the goofy "start the inning with a man on second" rule.  The home run was Chavis' second.  Eric Filia (Seattle) was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Walter Lockett (San Diego) struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and four walks.  For Mesa, Framber Valdez (Houston) pitched four shutout innings, giving up four hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

SALT RIVER 7, SCOTTSDALE 6 IN SALT RIVER (11 INNINGS)

The goofy rule was used in this game as well.  It was 5-5 after nine and each team scored once in the tenth.  Corey Ray (Milwaukee) doubled home the go-ahead run in the top of the eleventh.  Anthony Santander (Baltimore) hit a two-run homer.  For Scottsdale, Chadwick Tromp (Cincinnati) was 3-for-5 with a home run and Taylor Sparks (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with a home run, his fourth.
