With Licey lead 2-1, Juan Francisco hit a grand slam to put the game out of reach.  Francisco was 2-for-3 with five RBIs and the home run was his third of the post-season.  Julio Borbon was 3-for-4 with a walk.  Bryan Evans struck out five in four shutout innings, giving up a hit and two walks.

ESCOGIDO 5, GIGANTES 3 AT GIGANTES

Trailing 3-1, Escogido scored four in the eighth to go into the lead to stay.  Irwin Delgado struck out six in 5.2 innings, giving up one run on five hits.  For the Gigantes, Jose Siri hit a home run, his fourth of the post-season.  Ernesto Zaragoza struck out five in 3.1 innings, giving up a run on one hit and three walks.

Melbourne scored five in the fifth to take a 6-3 lead.  It was 7-4 going to the ninth, when Adelaide scored two runs but did not get the tying run on base.  For Melbourne, Michael Crouse was 2-for-4 with a grand slam, his fourth homer.  Tyler Neslony was 2-for-3 with a home run, his sixth.  For Adelaide, Stephen Lohr was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, his fifth.  Curtis Read was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Max Brown was 2-for-5 with a home run.  Kuan-Jen Chen hit a home run.

BRISBANE 7, PERTH 3 IN BRISBANE

Brisbane led 5-0 through two innings.  No box score was available.  Donald Lutz hit a home run, his fourteenth.  Chih-Sheng Lin hit a home run, his eleventh.

Emmanuel Rivera's two-run single in the tenth broke a 2-2 tie.  Yariel Gonzalez hit a home run.  Hiram Burgos pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on four hits and striking out four.  For Santurce, David Richardson struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on two hits and two walks.

SANTURCE 5, MAYAGUEZ 0 IN MAYAGUEZ (GAME 2)

Santurce scored two in the third and led the rest of the way.  Damek Tomscha  hit a home run, his second.  Robert Andino hit a home run.  Adalberto Flores pitched five shutout innings, giving up three hits and four walks and striking out two.

CAGUAS 6, CAROLINA 2 IN CAROLINA

Caguas scored three in the first and led all the way.  Johnny Monell was 2-for-4 with a walk and a home run, his second.  Ivan Maldonado pitched six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk and striking out three.  For Carolina, Wilfredo Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with a double.
