Philo said I was supposed to do an FMD as part of bS Week. Huh. I had no idea.
Ulysses S. Grant was born Hiram Ulysses Grant on this date in 1822. Well, he certainly turned out to be the Cream of the crop. I'm sure that can inspire someone's lists, so drop one.

🙂
Disappointed you didn't get Real in there from Has Been. That's a legitimate good song.

4. This is a pretty great Albini-recorded EP that I think shows Veruca Salt's peak (or at least I thought... I haven't re-evaluated). But then they got Bob Rock to produce the album that came out 10 months later, and it sounded like a Bob Rock record (at least the radio-play singles... I never bought it).
7. Bootleg recording. Northampton, Mass.
8. Carl Craig, Kenny Dixon Jr, Shake, and DJ Stingray
T. Bootleg recording. EAR was there, I was home with the baby and toddler.
Feeling out of the loop on modern hip-hop, such as the Pulitzer Prize winner.
Can I ask for representative single-song recommendations from a few such artists? (Preferably with youtube/soundcloud/bandcamp links).
TIA.
#1 on my list (both random 10 and otherwise) is Jean Grae & Quelle Chris' Everything’s Fine. I'm sure Zack could fill you in more.
I still haven't gotten around to listening to this!
I'm only about 4 minutes into casually listening to it and I'm strongly reminded of Dr. Octagon.
Jean Grae's voice reminds me of Ladybug from the Digable Planets, when Ladybug was talking (not rapping) in intros/background.
I'll give you some reccos later today.
Thx!
