SYRACUSE 4, ROCHESTER 2 IN ROCHESTER
The Chiefs scored two in the seventh to take a 3-0 lead. Willians Astudillo delivered a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh to cut the margin to 3-2, but that was as close as the Red Wings would come.
Jake Cave was 2-for-3 with a walk. Ryan LaMarre was 1-for-3 and is batting .421. Trevor May did well in his rehab assignment, striking out five in four innings and giving up one run on three hits and two walks. Zack Littell pitched four innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk and striking out three. His ERA is 1.69.
CHATTANOOGA 6, BILOXI 4 IN BILOXI
The Shuckers led 4-1 after three, but the Lookouts scored two in the fourth and three in the fifth to take the lead. LaMonte Wade homered to tie the game and Zander Weil hit a two-run homer to give Chattanooga the lead.
Brian Navarreto was 2-for-4. Wade was 1-for-3 with his sixth homer and is batting .305. Weil was 1-for-4 with his third homer and is batting .321. Chris Paul was 1-for-4 with his second homer. Nick Gordon was 1-for-4 with a double and is batting .338. Alex Perez was 1-for-4 and is batting .367. Lewis Thorpe continues to struggle, pitching five innings and allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks and striking out four. Todd Van Steensel pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit. His ERA is 1.90. Ryne Harper struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two hits. His ERA is 2.53.
JUPITER 5, FORT MYERS 2 IN JUPITER
The Hammerheads scored single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eight to take a 5-2 lead.
Luis Arraez was 2-for-3 with a double. Brandon Lopez was 2-for-4. Robert Molina was 0-for-4 and is batting .091. Five of the nine batters in the Miracle lineup have averages below .200. Charlie Barnes pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks and striking out two. Infielder Joe Cronin came in to pitch to the last two batters, who each grounded out.
QUAD CITIES 2, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS
It was scoreless until the seventh, when Corey Julks hit a two-run homer. Alex Kirilloff singled home a run in the eighth, but the Kernels did not get the tying run past first base.
Kirilloff was 2-for-4 and is batting .311. Royce Lewis was 0-for-4 and is batting .318. Bailey Ober had his first good game of the season, pitching six shutout innings and giving up three hits and no walks and striking out four. Jared Finkel pitched a scoreless inning, striking out one. His ERA is 1.17.
