Minor Details: Games of July 26

The Red Wings are shut out.  Brent Rooker keeps hitting.  Ben Rodriguez hits a big homer for the Miracle.  Michael Davis and Tyler Watson lead the Kernels.  The E-Twins are shut out.  Landon Leach pitches well in a GCL loss.  Triples lead to a DSL Twins win.

INDIANAPOLIS 4, ROCHESTER 0 IN INDIANAPOLIS

The Indians scored three in the first and one in the fifth.  The Red Wings had just four hits.

Fernando Romero pitched well after the first inning.  He went 7.2, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk and striking out two.  His ERA is 2.95.

PENSACOLA 4, CHATTANOOGA 1 IN CHATTANOOGA

Aristedes Aquino singled home a run in the seventh to break a 1-1 tie.  Two errors led to two insurance runs for the Blue Wahoos in the eighth.

Brent Rooker was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.  Zander Wiel was 0-for-4 and is batting .307.  Chris Paul was 1-for-4 with a home run, his fifth.

Dietrich Enns pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on three hits and no walks and striking out six.  Sam Clay pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

FORT MYERS 9, DAYTONA 8 IN DAYTONA (11 INNINGS)

The Miracle trailed 5-2 through eight, but Ben Rodriguez hit a three-run homer in a four-run ninth.  Brantley Bell singled home a run in the bottom of the ninth to send it to extra innings.  Each team scored twice in the tenth.  In the eleventh, an error, a walk, and another error put Fort Myers ahead.  The Tortugas got the tying run to third with one out but could not score him.

Taylor Grzelakowski was 5-for-6 with a double, scoring three times and driving in two.  Alex Kirilloff was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and is batting .383.  Rodriguez was 2-for-6 with a three-run homer and scored twice.  Royce Lewis was 2-for-7 and scored twice.  Victor Tademo jumped from the GCL to the Florida State League and was 0-for-3.

Griffin Jax struck out seven in four innings but allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and no walks.  Alex Robinson struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Adam Bray struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up a walk.  His ERA is 1.02.  Colton Davis pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

CEDAR RAPIDS 9, CLINTON 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Leading 1-0, the Kernels scored five in the fourth to take control of the game.  Michael Davis hit a two-run homer in the inning.

Davis was 2-for-3 with two home runs (his second and third) and a walk, driving in three.  Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and scored three times.  Jared Akins was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Robby Rinn was 2-for-4.

Tyler Watson struck out nine in seven innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk.  Jared Finkel struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up no hits and no walks.

BURLINGTON 5, ELIZABETHTON 0 IN BURLINGTON

The Royals scored one in the first and second and three in the eighth.  The Twins had just three hits and made four errors.

Michael Helman was 0-for-4 and is batting .367.  Yeltsin Encarnacion was 0-for-4 and is batting .353.  Alex Robles was 1-for-4 and is batting .339.  Trevor Larnach was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .333.  Andrew Cosgrove was 0-for-2 with a walk and is batting .302.

Andrew Cabezas pitched six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks and striking out five.

GCL RAYS 3, GCL TWINS 1 AT TWINS

Kaleo Johnson hit a home run in the seventh to break a 1-1 tie.  The Twins had just four hits.

Janigson Villalobos was 1-for-4 and is batting .333.

Landon Leach pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and one walk and striking out four.  Junior Navas struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up four hits and a walk.  His ERA remains zero through four innings.

DSL TWINS 2, DSL YANKEES 1 AT TWINS

Triples by Jim Caceras and Wander Javier in the second inning put the Twins ahead 2-1.  The Yankees had just one hit after the second inning.

Victor Heredia was 1-for-4 and is batting .363.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-4 and is batting .306.

Anthony Escobar struck out four in three innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and two walks.  His ERA is 1.04.  Bryant Perez struck out four in two perfect innings.  His ERA remains zero through ten innings.  Luciano De La Cruz struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.  Danny Moreno struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up no hits and no walks.  His ERA is 1.62.
