My heart has not been into this season. Dont get me wrong, I still love baseball more than all the other sports combined, but the Twins mediocre (at best) play, Byron Buxton and Joe Mauer missing chunks of the season due to injury, and a heavy workload for me has resulted in me missing a lot of games and me not really caring that I missed the games. Perhaps in 5 years I will quit all sports and not miss it. Jake "I missed out on being traded to a good team" Odorizzi for the Twins. Some dude named "Heath Fillmyer" throws for KC.
We better not allow another Drew Butera inside the parker this series.
By my calculations the Twins have had four players with the first name of "Logan". Two of them are on the current team.
I believe they are the only 2 active Logan's in MLB right now.
I can honestly say I have never heard of Heath Fillmyer. To be fair, he's probably never heard of me, either. He's done well for the Royals in a small sample size (27.1 innings). He didn't do much for Omaha before being called up, but he had a fairly good year in AA Midland last year.
After all these years, TK still pronounces Eddie Guardado's last name "Guadardo".
Some wiggling to get out of that one. Odoreater isn't going to go very deep in the game at this pace.
Fillmyer had a 4.9 K/9 coming into this game, so of course he strikes out the side in the first inning after walking Mauer on 4 pitches.
We no longer have the problem of each team having a Dozier and an Escobar when these teams get together. The Royals could use Brandon Maurer at some point, though.
all right new guy!
Logan Forsythe moves ahead of Corky Miller on the Twins' all-time hits list.
Provus Gordo'd that one big time.
Sano should go yard here.
Im guessing this game is going to have a weather delay
Two-run double for Sano!!
Would be nice to see a hit by Mauer here.
Like that!
oh my goodness Rosario
Good inning overall, but a stupid way to end it.
That was some high quality base running all around.
And Odoreater continues the Twins tradition of giveback runs.
Yes, but realistically, he's not going to shut them out and he's given up less runs in 3 innings than the Twins have scored in 2 innings.
If you're saying "At least he didn't give up the lead", then yes, but that's a pretty low bar. Two runs in three innings is not good.
A lot of people being asked to vacate grassy areas on Twins radio right now.
Aw heck, I had to mow the lawn, and I missed Logan's Run.
That deserves a WGOM dollar.
"Runner!!"
Kaat was a good hitter for a pitcher, but he wasn't a good hitter for a hitter. His lifetime numbers are .185/.227/.267. As a Senator/Twin, he batted .191/.235/.275.
This delay’s likely going to last an hour or more.
As one who is in a profession where I can be required to move against my will, I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for players getting traded. It's true that I won't have to move at a moment's notice, like they do, but it's also true that I don't get paid millions of dollars like they do. The bottom line is that you know, when you choose that line of work, that this is part of it. You may not like it, but you deal with it or you find another line of work.
That's assuming the ballplayer actually lives where they play, which not all do.
Well, they all have to have, as George Carlin used to say, a place for their stuff. Apartment, hotel, something. It's not pleasant to have to move quickly, I'm sure. But again, you know going into it that it's part of the deal.
It surprises me somewhat that players get attached to playing for a certain team outside of being friends with teammates, since half their games are on the road anyways and they can spend 4-5 months in the offseason living with their family wherever they want. I think it's just human nature to avoid change that's out of your control, unless you're just miserable where you're at.

Speaking of Jeffers.
Nice to see the new guys' names popping up
the twitter machine says 10:10 restart
love moya's twitchiness.
This restart is not promising.
I missed where Trevor May is back
FYI - Trevor May is back.
I think he was called up when Lynn was traded and Mejia went from the bullpen to the rotation. I think this was just his second game pitching.
can we stop the game and declare the Twins the winner?
aaron from st. cloud gettin' it done.
about 15 more minutes.
dick n' bert with some riveting coverage of the rain delay. not really kidding. they're doing play by play of the chalk guys.
heh, they made those two stay on air for, like, 20-25 minutes with no commercial breaks.
earning their paychecks!
"boy, if you can't sneak down to a dugout seat tonight, you're not trying very hard".
-dazzle
could use a few Geico runs
Nice finish by the bullpen. They retired final 9 batters with 5 Ks.
