ROCHESTER 14, TOLEDO 3 IN ROCHESTER
The Red Wings scored four in the first, three in the second, and four in the third to build an 11-1 lead. They hit four home runs in the first three innings.
Tyler Austin was 3-for-5 with a home run (his ninth) and a triple, scoring three times and driving in three. Kennys Vargas was 2-for-3 with a home run (his fifteenth) and a double, scoring twice and driving in four. Gregorio Petit was 2-for-5. The Miracle led 2-0 after three, but trailed 3-2 going to the ninth. Royce Lewis delivered a two-out triple in the ninth to tie it and a wild pitch brought home the lead run in the tenth.
Lewis was 3-for-4 with a triple and a walk and is batting .327. Travis Blankenhorn was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk. Jose Miranda was 2-for-4. Ernie De La Trinidad was 1-for-4 and is batting .367. Alex Kirilloff was 1-for-5 with a double and is batting .360.
Brusdar Graterol pitched 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk and striking out four. Ryan Mason struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.
CEDAR RAPIDS 9, CLINTON 4 IN CLINTON
Leading 4-3, the Kernels scored five in the fifth to put the game out of reach. The first two batters of the inning went out, but then came a double, four singles, a walk, and another single.
Michael Helman was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs. He is batting .571. Jacob Pearson was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice. Ben Rodriguez was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Leading 3-2, Samuel Vasquez hit a two-out two-run double in the eighth to give the Twins some insurance runs. The Rays had the tying run up to bat in the ninth.
Austin Hale was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Tyler Webb was 0-for-4 and is batting .338.
Kai-Wei Teng struck out nine in 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and no walks. Frandy Torres struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk. Erik Cha struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk. His ERA is 1.96.
