  1. The DSL Twins trail the DSL Cardinals Blue by one game with two games left in the DSL season. The two teams play each other today and tomorrow. The Twins need to win both to go to the playoffs.

      1. The Cardinals Blue scored in the ninth on back-to-back two-out doubles to win 2-1. The Twins are eliminated.

  2. The guy I know who broke his finger last year heard it crack as a basketball slammed down on it, so . . . maybe?

I always figure if something is getting worse rather than better, it's worth having it checked out. Very small fractures won't actually show up on an x-ray right away anyway.

  3. Just checking... the game's in MN tonight, right? Assuming I'm not wrong about that this time, I'll likely be there...

            1. Not that I know of... I just tried to embed a tweet thinking the image would be displayed, but it didn't quite work as I hoped it might.

              1. ahh, nevermind. i was saying that to sean, but i see what you mean (the text showed up on the sidebar instead of just the twitter link, so i thought he added something new). you don't need the embed code, just the URL code/link from the tweet itself.

so, if you just copy and paste "https://twitter.com/tteberry/status/1033026683782279168" on its own line, it will show up like:

(or maybe not if you're using an ad blocker)

      1. The real question is will Garver be the everyday catcher now. I would sincerely hope yes since Astudillo never caught when he was on the team (or not more than once maybe). My guess is the Twins are going to do a minor trade for a Wilson-esque type catcher since they seemed to value Astudillo's catching skills so little.

        1. You may be right, but that seems like it would be a really pointless move this late in a lost season.

          1. Well, we haven't seen Astudillo catch. It probably depends on how bad it is. But then again, why was he catching in the minors and why didn't they bring in a veteran minor leaguer to keep in AAA once Castro got hurt.

        1. Everywhere.

          Orbital resonance
          Earth and Venus
The most precise orbital resonance is between Earth and Venus planets. These planets meet 5 times during
8 Earth years and during 13 Venus years. Then their resonance ratio is 13:8 ... After those 8 Earth-years, the
planets meet on almost a same place, which differs by 2.586 Earth-days, in counter-orbital (retrograde)
direction, which is only 2.55°, or 0.088% of the cycle. It takes 239.8 years to rotate the resonance shape by
1/5 of the circle (which is 30x the 8-year cycle), then 1199 years to rotate one full round (which is 150x the 8-
          year cycle minus 1 year).
This difference makes the higher-order wave of the resonance. Only in the case of Earth/Venus, this higherorder
wave among direct neighbours is in retrograde (counter-orbital) direction. All outer planets have got the
higher-order wave in prograde direction among direct neighbours.
It takes 243 years (30x the 8-year cycle + 2 meetings) between the planets meet on an almost-same place.
The resonance shape gets little modified occasionally, mostly due to perturbations by the Jupiter planet, but
it always restores briefly. Hence, the resonance stabilizes planet orbits, because if one planet gets a little late
to the meet-point, it is attracted by the other planet. Since the orbital time determines the distance of the
planet from the Sun, forcing planets to regular meet-points stabilizes orbit trajectory to a large degree.

  4. I once broke my finger and waited 2 days to see a doctor since I didn’t think it was broken. X-rays showed not only was it broken, it was so bad that I needed to have surgery to fix it. That knuckle has never been the same.
