It would be just like Joe to keep things quiet just so he could forego the Goodbye Tour. I hope he comes back for one more year, but I wouldn't blame him if he doesn't.

He's obviously on the very short list of greatest all-around athletes in Minnesota history.
Dave Winfield has to be number one. But putting together a quality list is hard. Fortune Gordien, Brianna Scurry, Cindy Nelson, John Roethliesberger, Vern Gagne, Garry Bjorklund....
Bronko Nagurski?
Dan Patch
I chuckled. Unfortunately, Dan Patch was born in Indiana.
No one mentioned that requirement, only all around athletes in Minnesota history.
I see Gordien & Roethliesberger weren't born in Minnesota; I hadn't realized that. I assumed Doc's list was an implicit "native Minnesotans." Otherwise, I'm not sure how Willie Mays wouldn't be on it.
Huh I thought Gordien and Roethlisberger were Minnesota-born.
Gordien grew up in Minneapolis. Roethlisberger also grew up in the Cities.
I think that makes both legit Minnesotans. I was born in Nebraska, but lived in the state from age 2-ish until I graduated from college. Pretty sure I am a Minnesotan.
Monte Johnson played linebacker for Nebraska and for the Raiders. He won Mr. Minnesota for both football and hockey in the late 60s. He was born in Denver so I'm not sure at what age he moved to Bloomington. He played at Lincoln HS.
I've seen a good share of Packers garb here in Alec
welcome to my world
Normally throwing a home run ball back is pretty stupid, but...
Still pretty stupid, but from the other perspective, that's about the best result you could hope for.
Even though I love to golf, I only watch 3 events for the most part. The Masters, the US Open and the Ryder Cup. A bit disappointing (again) this year. As always, we should win if you look at it on paper. However, golf is a fickle sport, and the Ryder Cup is way more emotional and the one true team event. This year had very little controversy and very little fan issues (that I am aware of). I will say it is much more difficult to hate on the Euros with no Colin Montgomery or Lee Westwood.
Chris Jaffe points out that twenty-five years ago today, Bart and Lisa Simpson learned about their father's band, The Be Sharps.
Lost amidst the Mauer hullabaloo is that there is Playoff Baseball tomorrow!
Technically, they are play-in games since stats still count for regular season.
The guy doing Jimmy's Seafood Twitter account is epic , as Zach LaVine found out.
