   CABG is serious business, of course. We are all looking forward to being able to tell lots of sauerkraut puns after you come back, Twayn.

   1. i wondered if that was too flippant. CABG is most definitely serious business, so i don't mean to make light of it. was just looking to bring a little levity to matter. apologies, twayn. sorry if that was too heavy handed. naturally, i'm sending wishes for nothing but the best.

      1. I don't think it was too flippant, but am not the best judge (as you can see by my "plug" remark). I wasn't taking a shot at you, but rather riding with you.

         1. Many thanks. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried, but at this point I just have to cross the Rubicon and let the dice fly. I had a good talk with my brother yesterday, he chewed his CABG about 13 years ago. I've got two weeks to prepare mentally and emotionally. I have a good idea of what to expect, now I just have to be ready to deal with it. I have a lot of faith in providence and there is comfort to be found in resignation to a higher power.

2. Bryce Harper's final year ends in 2031. Bobby Bonilla will still have four more years in his deferred payments.

   1. yea, but inflation!

3. Wiggins last night... Yeesh. I'm reaching Mackey levels of annoyance with him. Especially when his response is always something to the effect of "Yeah, well, I'm not going to let it bother me or worry about it. Just going to try harder going forward".

   1. I don't think there is any way he could meet his potential at this point. He's the worst player in the league. (Considering contract. )

      1. So many things to choose from, but here’s this:

         Down 109-107 with 3:31 left, Wiggins misses a pair of free throws. He's now 10 for 26 (38.5%) at the free throw line in clutch time (<5min, +/- 5pts) this season.

4. Twins-BoSox on FSN this afternoon.

   1. Marney and Dazzle in the booth today. Dazzle just came out in favor of the pitch clock. I'm pleasantly surprised.

      1. Taylor Rogers is a great interview. Also Marney isn't at all afraid to poke Dazzle.

      2. Dazzle isn't hiding his resentment of working with Marney.

         1. I don't know. I get the impression that they're both kind of doing an act.

            1. Maybe so, but if it's an act, they might want to consider retiring it. Judging by Twitter reaction, it doesn't look like it went over too well.

               1. Yes. It got a little weird when she said he put a plastic bag over her head on a flight.

5. Topps' Heritage set came out on Wednesday, and it has some first cards for new Twins players: Cruz, Cron, Schoop, plus a rookies card with Astudillo/Kohl S/Gonsalves. They're in the 1970 style, which is the first year I bought any cards at all, so there's some nostalgia there. Kinda disappointed that they didn't include any Twins players from the 1970 team to reprise with autograph cards, which do with Heritage. The item I'd really like is this hard-to-get box-topper poster:
   

   1. I remember when they had posters like that when I was a kid! I had them all over the wall in my room.

      1. with little holes where the creases wore through, yeah!

         1. And yellow spots from the tape!
