I'd say we got a good 4-5" out here. It brought back stirring memories of... like a few weeks ago.

Just got to the theater for our 9:30 am showing of Avengers Endgame. The parking lot is more full than it usually is on a Saturday afternoon/evening, and there are about 30 people in each of the 4 concession lines.
I’m going to go out in a limb and say that this movie might end up being pretty popular.
Same. The theater wasn't playing any other movies until noon. This things gonna make eleventy-billion dollars. (it's also really good).
My CM plan fell through, but I made it to the big one anyway last night. One of my main thoughts:
I read a review that suggested the movie was written to keep spoilers to a minimum and therefore had as few people in each scene as possible to keep the actors in the dark as much as possible. I don’t know if I agree with that assessment, but your spoiler has some truth to it.
I did love it when the punisher showed up and killed everyone after magneto removed the gauntlet with his mind.
I’d imagine some of that has to be for scheduling reasons too. It’s probably not possible to get that many actors with that many other jobs on set at the same time for very long.
We're gonna have a movie Monday tomorrow, right? I'll save my commentary til then, but yup, it was fantastic.
Yes, but we're still gonna have a movie Monday tomorrow, right?
of course
Guess I wasn't obvious enough the first time.
Through 23 games, Brian Dozier is slashing his typical early season numbers: .173/.287/.347/.634. OPS+ 64. Probably still to early to say if the Twins did the right thing by letting him go, but its leaning towards probably yes.
It makes me smile to remember all the fans who were so outrageously outraged when Dozier was traded.
Twins, Loons, playoff basketball and hockey. Pretty darned good sporps day.
sporps are the best.
Oldest two and I are at our first Yard Goat game. We got to witness former Twin Phil Nevin's kid Tyler take a walk.
We spend about an hour last night sifting through programming on cable, Netflix, and Amazon Prime looking for a good movie we haven't seen yet. We ended up watching this week's Brockmire and 4 episodes of Schitt's Creek instead, then landed on the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction on HBO. As a teenager and twentysomething, I had the world's biggest crush on Stevie Nicks, The Cure was in steady rotation through my extended college years, and The Zombies were part of my childhood soundtrack, so it was a fun bit of nostalgia.
Did the same and ended up watching Beirut (Jon Hamm & Rosamund Pike*) which I really enjoyed.
*She was very good in Hostiles which was right up my alley (felt like an alternate-universe Dances With Wolves + The Searchers with a little Revenant-type cinematography.
Here’s Wonderwall from the stands. It was so fun. I’d encourage everyone to get to a game, even if you’re not a soccer fan. I brought a friend and it was his first soccer game ever and he had a blast.
Oh and the Loons scored in the 82nd minute And I’ve never experienced a home crowd absolutely will the team on to victory. Everyone wanted to sing Wonderwall so badly, it was like we all said, hop on our backs, we got this.
Ooooh, yeah. That's pretty cool.
Carlos Carassco had a 1 hit shutout going into the 7th inning, 14 pitches later is 4-1 Astros.

Meanwhile, Hunter Dozier slashing 350/442/713
There can only be one good Dozier.
