As shaky as our faith has been in Martin Perez, he has a 75% QS rate. Who knows?
I noticed several nicely framed strikes at the bottom of the zone in the game recap video.
Per the MLB game recap, he's added a cutter this year and got damn near all of his outs using it.
I saw another article about him using his legs more and adding a couple mph to his fastball.
Last night, I noticed that he used it a LOT like F-Bomb used to use his slider when he was unhittable. Ahead in the count, basically throwing it at a right handed hitter's back ankle. Looked deadly last night.
He had a lot of pitches that were on the black or slightly off that were called strikes.
I thought his signing was insane. It's nice to have a front office that can make the insane genius.
I think the difference between the previous administration and the current one is that before the explanation would be "well, he was affordable -- what the heck?" but now it's "his salary is reasonable, and we saw where we could add a couple miles to his fastball and fix his technique a bit." Sure, doesn't always work out, but it seems like there is at least a plan
Just between Perez and Parker, the front office looks really smart so far. Throw in Schoop (who's having a nice bounceback so far) and Cruz (who appears so far to be as advertised), and I'd say the Twins had a pretty nifty offseason.
Now, if Marwin Gonzalez would start hitting...
Havent seen your computer, but I've searched endlessly to find why M4 metabolite was in your urine.
My favorite thing about fans at Twins games in the kids dancing when they see themselves on the scoreboard. It's funny that every kid seems to know the same 5 dances. My least favorite thing about fans at Twins games is the new-ish phenomenon of woo'ing as loud as they can, especially on days when the crowd is sparse. It's like a new drunk attention-seeking version of the wave.
I've heard that on broadcasts, usually late in the game, although I wasn't aware it was at home games.
There’s a person who is very audible on the telecasts (not sure about others) I’ve taken to calling “The Screamer” because it seems to be the same voice, doing the same obnoxious scream, game after game. I do not like this person’s behavior.
Adalberto Mejia to the injured list, Mike Morin up. I just did Morin's biography (his birthday is tomorrow). To me, he looks like somebody who should be a good relief pitcher, but in recent years hasn't been. I'm hoping maybe the Twins can help him figure something out.
