Cristian Pache hit a three-run homer in a five-run eighth that gave the Braves a 6-0 lead.

Batting stars:  Jimmy Kerrigan was 2-for-4.  Mitchell Kranson was 2-for-4.  Travis Blankenhorn was 2-for-5.  Mark Contreras had a pinch-hit three-run homer.

Pitching stars:  Charlie Barnes struck out seven in five innings, giving up four hits and no walks.  Tyler Jay pitched a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out one.

Opposition star:  Tucker Davidson struck out eight in six shutout innings, giving up three hits and three walks.

Stats:  Ben Rortvedt was 1-for-3 and is batting .323.  Blankenhorn is batting .313.  Barnes made his AA debut and has an ERA of zero.  Jeff Ames gave up a run on three hits and a walk in two innings and has an ERA of 2.82.

A three-run seventh gave the Miracle a 5-0 lead.

Batting stars:  Trevor Larnach was 3-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and a double, scoring twice and driving in five.  Lewin Diaz was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs.  Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-5 with two doubles and a walk.

Pitching stars:  Blayne Enlow pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits and one walk and striking out five.  Joe Record struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Anthony Vizcaya pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

Opposition star:  Shean Michel was 2-for-3 with a triple.

Stats:  Hunter Lee made his high-A debut and was 1-for-3, giving him a batting average of .333.  Diaz is batting .310.  Larnach is batting .306.  Enlow made his high-A debut and has an ERA of 1.50.  Vizcaya has an ERA of 2.22.

Record:  The Miracle is 30-21, tied for second with Bradenton in the Florida State League South, one game behind Palm Beach.

BURLINGTON 9, CEDAR RAPIDS 4 IN BURLINGTON (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

Harrison Wenson hit a two-run homer in a seven-run first for the Bees.

Batting star:  Wander Javier was 1-for-2 with two walks.

Pitching star:  Andrew Bechtold pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

Opposition star:  Connor Fitzsimmons was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in three.

Stats:  Jared Akins was 0-for-4 and is batting .360.  Bechtold is normally a third baseman, but he has an ERA of zero.

Record:  The Kernels are 25-26, fifth in the Midwest League Western, eight games behind Quad Cities.
