Wynston Sawyer keeps hitting, but the Twins get swept.  Big innings did in most of the teams.

BUFFALO 9, ROCHESTER 5 IN ROCHESTER

Billy McKinney and Patrick Kivlehan homered in a three-run fifth to give the Bisons a 6-2 lead.

Batting stars:  Wynston Sawyer was 2-for-4 with two doubles.  Brent Rooker was 1-for-2 with two walks.  Nick Gordon was 1-for-3 with a triple and two walks.

Pitching stars:  None.

Opposition star:  Kivlehan was 4-for-5 with two home runs, his seventh and eighth.

Stats:  Sawyer is batting .500.  Jordany Valdespin was 1-for-4 and is batting .326.  Gordon is batting .306.

Record:  The Red Wings are 20-32, sixth (last) in the International League North, 10.5 games behind Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

JACKSONVILLE 9, PENSACOLA 6 IN PENSACOLA (10 INNINGS)

The Jumbo Shrimp scored five runs in the tenth inning.

Batting stars:  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-5.  Jaylin Davis was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his eighth.  Travis Blankenhorn was 1-for-5 with a two-run homer, his ninth.

Pitching star:  Anthony Vizcaya pitched two shutout innings, giving up two walks.

Opposition star:  Anfernee Seymour was 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, and three RBIs.

Stats:  Vizcaya has an ERA of zero.  Jordan Gore, normally a shorstop, pitched two-thirds of an inning without giving up a run and has an ERA of zero.

Record:  The Blue Wahoos are 32-24, tied for first with Biloxi in the Southern League South, six games ahead of Mississippi.

LAKELAND 9, FORT MYERS 2 IN LAKELAND

The Flying Tigers scored all nine of their runs in the seventh inning.

Batting stars:  Royce Lewis was 2-for-4.  Trevor Larnach was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fifth.

Pitching stars:  Cole Sands struck out six in six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and no walks.  Calvin Faucher retired all five men he faced, striking out three.

Opposition stars:  Kody Clemens was 2-for-3.

Stats:  Lewin Diaz was 1-for-4 and is batting .310.  Larnach is batting .304.

Record:  The Miracle is 32-25, tied for first with Bradenton and Palm Beach in the Florida State League South, 3.5 games ahead of Charlotte.

BELOIT 6, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN BELOIT

The Snappers scored five runs in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.

Batting star:  Gilberto Celestino was 2-for-3 with a home run (his third) and a walk.

Pitching star:  Brian Rapp struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Opposition star:  J. J. Schwarz was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and two runs.

Stats:  Jared Akins was 0-for-4 and is batting .308.

Record:  The Kernels are 28-28, fifth in the Midwest League Western, 8.5 games behind Quad Cities.
