I’m coming to Minnesota! I’m going to fly into the airport, drive out of the cities, walk around for a couple minutes, drive back to the cities, and then immediately fly back! Should be fun.

You guys and your oddball spellings
Driving down 7, I saw it's actually "Kwik Trip". I should have remembered that...
How these two companies co-exist the way they do is a wonder.
Three. You know there's a Qwik Trip out there.
Kwik Trip has the Kwik Star stations in Iowa, I think. Maybe that's the workaround.
Either way, Kwik Trips are where it's at for restroom snack stops when I'm on the road locally. They do good work.
QT here is almost always the go-to for lowest gas prices, plus Runner daughter even likes their "kitchen"
sounds like my trip, except in mine we drove 4+ hours out of the cities, looked around for 5 days, turned around and drove 4+ hours back and flew out.
btw, we did the Tower-Soudan mine tour (again) this time. Still great.
Going to the game today. Hoping for a game quicker than 4 hours.
Watch for us on YouTube.
My mom texted yesterday to ask how to watch the Twins game on YouTube. I'm guessing that's going to be an issue for a lot of Twins fans.
If you can get through all the GOSO memes, you're in like Flint.
Uffda. Go well-hydrated in case they have to close the roof. I’d compare that place to a sauna, except saunas are pleasant.
And they are VERY quick to close that stupid thing.
I’ve seen all kinds of trips to MN from out-of-state Citizens ... are caucuses (mini or otherwise) a thing of the past?
I've seen Spooky more in Arizona than Minnesota.
Let this be a standing invitation to anyone who finds theirself in downtown St. Cloud over the lunch hour.
If that ever happens we're going to Mongo's
I get to mini-caucus with Nibbish on a weekly basis during cribbage season. I might have to take Mags up for a St. Cloud lunch as I am craving me some Val's. The largest caucus I have attended in the past 12 years was at Guaranteed Rate field.
Duuuude, their milkshakes are legit.
Yessir! I have both my kids and a handful of my employees converted to Val fans.
Val's seems like a "good” McDonalds to me. I mean that as a compliment.
I think that is fair. It's not gourmet food by any means. However, they this crazy yet brilliant system to crank out a ton of burgers and fries out of a kitchen as big as my office (which is tiny). There is just a certain charm about the place that for some reason makes the food taste better. My first house was a couple blocks away and when we were remodeling, I made so many runs to Val's to feed the crew.
Yes.
Nothing wrong with a strategy of doing what McDonalds does well but with better ingredients.
Cribbage season is coming!
good times...
(and next time for more than 12 elapsed minutes)
My parents are moving to Bloomington, planning to spend summers at the cabin for as many more years as they can.
Bloomington as a base of operations for visits makes caucusing more of a possibility than Bigfork.
I thought this was pretty cool
North Loop history
Agreed. That’s pretty cool!
Okay vendor -- dish me up a nice big SanoCron for today's game please.
Looking at the standings...
Noticing that the Twins have a better record than all but one NL teams.
6 teams in the AL would be second-place or better in the NL.
But then 5 teams in the AL would second-last or worse in the NL.
NL leads the season in Interleague: 125-106.
Conclusion: AL has more variability between the level of its teams.
Breakthrough scientific conclusion 😉

Got to go to Dunkin' Donuts park tonight in H'istan (for a charity board meeting), in the Yard Goats' Executive meeting room.
One of our Advisory board members is the G.M. of the park, and hosted us with free food and drinks for our meeting, then complimentary tickets for tonight's double-header against the Portland Sea Dogs. I got a quick glance of the park, and saw a Maueresque single, but then had to blow out of there (a work night for this boyo).
So in Scandia, Todd's Country Store closed down and now there is a Scandia Country Store & SuperAmerica (a co-op).
From their website:
PROPANE…
To provide a constant supply of propane we invested in a rail terminal in Cambridge in 2001. That facility provided a constant supply to all 25 Federated propane plants through recent dramatic shortages at head-of-pipeline truck terminals. Our 2007 merger with CAP-Trico Oil and Propane increased Federated’s propane sales by 30% and substantially increased the rail terminal’s value.
FUEL & OIL
We also shifted our petroleum division to improve efficiency and reliability by combining three bulk refined-fuels plants into a single facility at Ogilvie. Facilities in Pine City and the upgraded Cambridge location add efficiency, including tanks for biofuels, and they also meet current environmental requirements.
Its all good, right?
Boo, the Scandia Cafe has closed:

I have fears that the Kaffe Stuga in my old stomping grounds of Harris, MN will someday do the same. I only eat there once every few years, but I have been dining there for 40+ years. My condolences NBB!
The New Hold Steady album came early in the mail. It good. I think I maybe like Craig's Blankets more but who knows.
I'm thinking about stopping at the record store on the way home tomorrow to get mine.
Can you tell Franz is back?
I think so.
