Not if I keep bringing it up. π
I'm really interested in the Vagabon record.
Ashley Bathgate (she of the "double bow" tag) just had her new album out, and it's good.
Sunn O))) has a new album in late October too. They're one of those bands that I always like when I listen to them, but I sometimes forget about.
* Become Desert - Seattle Symphony Orchestra - Become Desert (John Luther Adams)

Vagabon is probably the most I'm interested in from that list.
What do you think about Lux Prima? It basically sounds like an extension of Rome to me.
*looks around for New Guy*
I find it just OK. I don't mind listening to it, but I don't often search it out.
yeah, agreed.
*ducks in case new guy is lurking*
Also interested in Vagabon.
I'm listening to Ashley Bathgate ASH right now from the bandcamp link.
Parts remind me a lot of Sarah Neufeld (at least Hero Brother, I hadn't realized she had a new one).
Tagged that album for later listening. Seems like it might be my thing.

Really excited to hear Angel Olsen's new one. It kind of blows my mind how much she's evolved from the spare singer-songwriter to catchy pop rock to full on epic synth pop.
I love getting in on the ground floor of something. And yeah, it's been great to be along for the ride. This one is also higher on the list.
Half way through my first listen of All Mirrors.Consider my mind blown, too, how she went from sounding like she recorded around a campfire to sounding like she recorded in a spaceship. Looking forward to seeing her for the first time next month.

Anyone else pick up Dead Man's Pop? Don't Tell a Soul was always way down on my list of Replacement albums, in part because the production was so sterile. The Matt Wallace mix wipes most of the 8o's gloss away to reveal a far more "real band" feel. The running order was also changed for the betterment. The net result is a much better album, IMO. The Bearsville sessions sound more like demos and for the most part are inferior to the original or remixed album. The drunken sessions with Tom Waits are funny and play more like a musical comedy album. Even so, probably not gonna listen to them much. The two live discs are a rockin' treat for old fans and new. The band is tight (as far as the Mats go) and Westerberg is in cantankerous and funny form throughout.
A tune from DTaS that never rang true in my ears (mainly due to the production), but achieves lift off in this unhinged live version.
I like the Wallace mixes. Not sure why they had the Bearsville sessions. Pretty sleepy. Haven't gotten to live tracks yet.
It's definitely on my list
Pretty much my opinion too. I've heard this concert before on a bootleg or euro-release.
I went to the Conversations with Nick Cave gig earlier this week. Just Nick Cave, not the Bad Seeds and he played solo piano. But also took questions from the audience. About 3 hours long, no break and I think he played 14 songs. It was really cool. Of course some of the questions were a little meh. It's interesting in that I'd say that 75 percent of the questions the asker inserted themselves into the question. People like talking about themselves I guess. I got to ask a question, but it wasn't about me. It was about From Her to Eternity and it's use in the movie Wings of Desire. Much along the lines a discussed in this post.
Some of the song performances were amazing, in fact three had my jaw on the floor. Definitely one of the cooler shows I've been to in a long time.
huh. nick cave is notoriously prickly, so i'm surprised he would do something like this. i listened to a really awkward interview with him on sound opinions once. i was going to listen to his wtf interview, but in the introduction, MM said some to the effect of "well... i tried!" i didn't bother after that.
He's doing a whole tour in this format, to rave reviews.
Have you read any of his Red Hand Files stuff? It's amazing. Also the only time he was prickly was when a woman asked if he considered covering Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. There was no doubt he thought it was a dumb question.
Nine Inch Nails - "Closer"
Ozzy Osbourne - "Mr. Crowley"
Reverend Horton Heat - "It's Martini Time"
Ronnie Milsap - "Stranger in My House"
Muse - "Madness"
Living Colour - "Cult of Personality"
The Eagles - "Those Shoes"
The Hives - "Two Timing Touch and Broken Bones"
Donald Fagen - "I.G.Y"
Concrete Blonde - "Joey"
I've been digging this EP Nick Lowe put out called Love Starvation, it was only 4 bucks at Amazon. Highly recommended
Always love to see the Reverend show up.
And I'm happy to be here! Oh, wait, you meant....never mind.
