Normally we would have made a new movie post yesterday, but we have all sorts of new content right now and the old one is still kickin' anyway.

I haven't seen any movies in forever, but I approve of this CoC image.
Public Service Announcement: Don't try and grill your short ribs, folks. Just don't.
The T-bones came out ok, though.
Oh no! What happened?
Probably too thick, maybe not totally thawed in the center and in the bone. Didn't allow adequate time relative to thickness, and was having temperature issues due to high wind (maybe). General incompetence.
Sounds like a frustrating experience. I’m glad you had steak back-ups.
From today's write up at stat-o-matic 2020 simulation:
The Twins are now 13-10, in third place and 2.5 behind KC (and only 0.5 behind the Clevelands).
#itshappening
And over at Baseball-Reference, the OOTP simulated season has the Twins at 10-13 and eight games behind the White Sox. Cruz hit two HRs (7 on the year) but Odo takes the 8-2 loss.
I just realized the White Sox now have an "All-Star" as their backup catcher.
Forty years ago today, it was 100 degrees in Fargo, ND. I remember certain parts of that day quite vividly.
So, global warming is a hoax?
That's the only logical conclusion.
Well...one week mandatory leave without pay for May, June, July, and Aug. Knew it couldn't last as-is.
Is that an actual week off or is it a week without pay but work should still get done kinda situation?
I’m not a lawyer, but any employer expectations of the latter sounds like a violation of federal labor law.
"leave" is the key word here. No work, no pay for a week.
I have a very strict "If I'm not getting paid my computer isn't even turned on" policy.
Since telecommuting started back in '04, I'm a lot more lax about that. I'll log in and check/clean out emails on off days or after hours. Sometimes if I have mindless stuff I'll fiddle with that while watching TV in the evenings.
So after a lot of sleep, and food staying down, I think I'm back. No chills, no diahrrea. Watched the first episode of Unorthodox - quite good.
Excellent news! May you continue on that path.
Unorthodox was a gripping but ultimately uplifting ride. Glad to hear you’re feeling better, boyo.
The broken Eruv in Unorthodox was interesting. We have one covering a lot of West Hartford (including my swim club, JCC). The main thing is that it let's you carry things on the Sabbath (like car keys, babies) .
If you're done with the crap weather and have clear skies, check out the Lyrids.
I went out to check out the meteors but too overcasty here.
From the H'istan Courant: Starting Monday, April 20, at 8 p.m., Connecticut residents will be required to wear face masks in public to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. I have been for several weeks now...
Who's going to enforce this? The Germ Patrol? "You there, freeze!"
The germ police, they see what's outside my head
The germ police, they come when I'm out of bed
The germ police, they're coming to arrest me
Oh, no.
On the stove tonight, smothered chicken Cajun style. 2 lbs Chicken legs because no whole chicken in the house, 1.5 lbs onions copped fine, a red pepper diced , 4 celery stalks diced, Cajun space, cayenne, salt, garlic, pepper a bit of stock and hot sauce. Marinade chicken in salt, pepper, garlic powder and hot sauce. Brown chicken in a Dutch oven, and then add onions. Simmer for 15 minutes and add peppers and celery and stock to cover though very little water or stock is necessary. Simmer till meat falls off bone, and serve over rice.
Now to be fair, I had half a bit of andouille and half a link of smoked boudin that I dumped into the pot, but the result was really, really delicious.
Smoked boudin, yummo.
You said it, boyo.
To be fair, I’ve never met a boudin I didn’t like.
