Algonad mentioned yesterday that he liked having a rotation of color commentary guys, and I agree. What old Twins player/coach/etc. would you like to have a shot in the booth?

Drove from my parents' house to a couple miles south of town a while after sunset with the intent of seeing Comet NEOWISE. I sat just off the highway on a field road waiting for enough darkness, which turned out to be ~10:30 or so. I had stepped out of the car for a few seconds, but the background hum in the air told me that wasn't happening.
Sitting in the car with my binoculars, I eventually saw the comet (quite easily), a good sized tail pointing up from the nucleus. I ended up driving back to the edge of town, parking in the golf course parking lot, and getting out there to view a while (town had been sprayed a few hours earlier). It was even visible to the naked eye there, although weakly.
If you have clear enough skies to the WNW, look for it between the bottom of the Big Dipper's bowl and the horizon. It's a fuzzy spot to the naked eye at ~11:00 PM, but you'll want to use at least a binoculars if you have one.
We’ve been considering driving out into the darkness of the desert to take a look. Glad to hear it worked out well for you!
Yeah, if you have clear (and at least relatively dark) skies, it's worth it the next handful of nights
Just wanted to let you know I'm going to be gone for a week or so. Not going anywhere fancy--just visiting relatives (mainly parents) and friends--but I won't be around here much, if at all.
The birthday list should pop up every day, unless I get the old "missed schedule". If I do, I'd appreciate it if someone would publish it for me.
The Random Rewind will continue through next Thursday morning, and then the series will come to an end. It was always intended to be a temporary feature, some baseball content during the time there was no baseball. MLB starts up next Thursday morning, so the Random Rewind will go away. If, for some reason, MLB does not start, or starts but goes away again quickly, I could bring it back. Otherwise, we'll start a new season-long rewind after the Twins finish winning the World Series.
Looks like there is a good chance the Random Twins end with a winning record. Today the random generator said we were four games back, so hopefully they can catch whichever random team is randomly ahead of us.
Enjoy your time away!
Actually, this gave me an idea: if we want to stretch the draft out one more round, we should add your team's person in the booth.
I'm in
Since I'll be picking first, I'd be game. But if I were picking last, I would not be eager to participate in this.
You can always pass and choose ambient noise
I think I'd be 2nd to last, so it's not about me getting an easy pick.
I didn't mean to imply it was. Just saying my interest level is "meh" and would have fluctuated with position in the draft, so I'd defer to those later.
And I didn't mean to imply you were implying!!1
Since y'all are done with the player draft, I would have re-randomized for each of the manager, stadium, announcer, and jersey.
Dont forget beers
Ballpark food specialties...
Dazzle: "Two runners score, and just listen to that crowd!"
Got a hearty chuckle out of both Provus and me.
Oh hey, I didn't know about this.
LWJr. gets his 3rd RsBI! And it true old-timey baseball fashion, they promptly end the half inning and switch sides...?
Polanco Bombas off Theilbar and the Twins lead the Twins 8-4.
Cave knocks in a couple with a double. Twins now lead the Twins 8-6.
Just saw that nine years ago today JI JIM hit the homer that caused _elm_n's "O" face
Oh crap. John Lewis has died. He belongs on the Mount Rushmore of Great Americans.
And CT Vivian also died
