Groundhog sees his shadow and its six more months of pandemic.

It's been so foggy around here for the last several days that I don't think they could even find the groundhog.
Which group of writers carries more water for the owners, MLB or NFL? It's a tough call...
It's really easy for the owners to leak their side and more difficult for the placers to provide any nuance, especially in today's media world. It's a problem across all news, but very few prominent MLB media members give any detail about why the players might unilaterally decline an offer.
I really don't want expanded playoffs but the owners want that sweet cash, damn the potential long-term effects on the sport.
I can't retweet Jon Heyman's tweets related to his incredulity that the MLBPA did not make a counter offer, but I can explain why, under labor law, they didn't. (He blocked me) That said, a lack of education on a subject should never preclude taking a position.
My thought about why they didn't make a counter-offer is why should they? What benefit is there for them in doing so?
It utterly baffles me how many people apparently took this offer to be simply a 2 dimensional offer made in good faith, as if the players would lose nothing by accepting.
Heyman obviously knows better than that, which is maddening, but there are lots of people who can't (or won't) look ANY deeper into this.
I'm feeling like today's Co'C is being disrespected...
