INDIANAPOLIS AT ST. PAUL

The game was suspended in the bottom of the eighth with the score tied 2-2.  The game will be completed today.  After leaving the game early the day before, Nick Gordon was not in the lineup for this game.  Alex Kirilloff was in the lineup and so far has gone 2-for-3 with a home run.

WICHITA 6, TULSA 1 IN TULSA

Jermaine Palacios hit a two-run single in the first and the Wind Surge led all the way.

Batting stars:  Aaron Whitefield was 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, his fifth and sixth.  Jose Miranda was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer (his fifth) and two runs.  Mark Contreras was 1-for-4 with a home run and a walk.  Gilberto Celestino was 1-for-4 with a home run and a walk.

Pitching stars:  Josh Winder struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk.  Brandon Koch struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up two walks.  Yennier Cano struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up two walks.

Opposition star:  Justin Bruihl struck out four in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.

Stats:  Miranda is batting .364.  Whitefield is batting .339.  Koch has an ERA of zero.  Winder has an ERA of 0.93.  Cano has an ERA of 1.04.  Alex Phillips gave up a run in two innings and has an ERA of 2.25.

David Banuelos was 1-for-4 and is batting .100.  Andrew Bechtold was 0-for-2 and is batting .171.  Celestino is batting .175.

Record:  The Wind Surge is 9-5, in first place, one game ahead of Arkansas.

BELOIT 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 3 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The Kernels scored three in the third, but that was it.  It was 3-2 after eight, but a sacrifice fly tied it and Zachary Owings singled home the deciding run.

Batting stars:  Alex Isola was 2-for-3.  Michael Helman was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, his third.

Pitching stars:  Tyler Beck pitched five innings, giving up one run on one hit and one walk and striking out four.  Tyler Watson pitched three innings, giving up an unearned run on one hit and two walks and striking out two.

Opposition star:  Josh Roberson struck out three in two perfect innings.

Stats:  Spencer Steer was 0-for-3 and is batting .349.  Jair Camargo was 1-for-4 and is batting .303.  Beck has an ERA of 1.42.  Watson has an ERA of 2.35.

Helman is batting .194.  Tyler Palm allowed two runs in one inning and has an ERA of 9.00.

Record:  The Kernels are 7-7, tied for second with Beloit, 3.5 games behind Quad Cities.

TAMPA 15, FORT MYERS 1 IN TAMPA

The Mighty Mussels took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, but it was all Tarpons after that.  It was already 8-1 when Tampa scored seven in the sixth.

Batting stars:  None.

Pitching star:  Matthew Swain struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits.

Opposition stars:  Trevor Hauver was 2-for-2 with three walks and three runs.  Elijah Dunham was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, and two RBIs.  Matt Sauer struck out four in four innings, giving up one run on three hits and four walks.

Starter:  Brent Headrick pitched 3.2 innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits and three walks and striking out one.

Stats:  Edouard Julien was 1-for-4 and is batting .341.  Misael Urbina was 0-for-4 and is batting .308.  Juan Pichardo pitched 2.2 innings and allowed three unearned runs, so his ERA is 1.29.
