$1.2M, how quaint.
It's like a tip these days....
It appears that there will be minor league playoffs, sort of, but only two teams in each league will play in them. Thus, divisions are rendered meaningless, as winning your division does you no good whatsoever. Link.
I’m going to try to do for the Euros21 that Stick does for the NBA playoffs so you can follow along in the next week. Quarters on Friday and Saturday via ESPN.
Final 8 for the Euros and besides within the groups, the teams aren’t seeded which means that you can have lopsided brackets which we definitely have this year. On the left Bracket we have teams that have world rankings of 1 (Belgium), 6 (Spain), 7 (Italy), and 13 (Swiss), this after 2 and 5 were eliminated in previous round, while on the right bracket we have world rankings of 4 (England), 10 (Denmark), 24 (Ukraine), and 40 (Czech). Here is how I think it shakes out going into the quarterfinals this weekend:
1. Italy – Definitely been playing the best all tournament. Not your father’s Italy team as there has been little internal dissension and have been playing a fun game. Italy hasn’t lost an International Match since 2018. 2. England – Coming out of the “easy bracket” they should be set up nice for the finals, especially since the semis and final will be played at Wembley. They haven’t been too inspiring but haven’t given up a goal yet either. 3. Spain – They have scored 5 goals last two games but still shaky, again must get by either Belgium or Italy just to get to finals. 4. Belgium – I’d put them first but playing Italy and then Spain to get to finals is a tough route. Couple that with Hazard and De Bruyne are out against Italy (but should be back for semis). If they somehow get past Italy, I’ll probably move them to 1. 5. Denmark – Riding the emotion of Christian Eriksen’s on-field heart attack and miraculous recovery, they get to take on the Czechs but the fairytale will probably end against England in the semis. 6. Czech – Even though ranked 40, they have a pretty good team and could get past Denmark. 7. Ukraine – Given they are in the “easy bracket” one could see a path to the finals if you squinted really hard. 8. Swiss – Have to beat Spain then Belgium or Italy and then probably England at Wembley to grab the title. Sorry.
Italy was seeming likeable for the first time in, well, forever. Then, they decided to keep announcing that they don't agree that black lives matter. So yup...
The Twins pitching acquisitions this past off season have been nothing short of disastrous. Couple that with the Dobnik contract extension and woo boy.
I feel badly for him--it's not like he was stinking it up on purpose--but it had to happen. The Twins knew, or should have known, they were taking a gamble when they signed him. They lost the gamble.
yeah, no backup plan
No game log? Berrios is setting them down up.
Just threw one up.
My bad, I have to check the schedule more often.
Ex-Twin Alex Avila is making his first-ever start at second base for the Nationals tonight.
Saints game on BSN if you get that channel
I'm not watching, but they're not exactly off to a promising start.
There has been a few fielding miscues
Early evening farm report:
The Saints trail Omaha 5-0 in the second inning. So far, Michael Pineda has allowed five runs (four earned) in two innings.
Wichita leads Amarillo 1-0 in the third. Spencer Steer hit a home run. Bryan Sammons has not allowed a hit through two innings.
Cedar Rapids trails Quad Cities 5-1 in the fourth. Cody Laweryson has given up all five runs in three innings.
Fort Myers trails Bradenton 1-0 through five. Brent Headrick allowed one run on four hits in four innings but walked five. The Mighty Mussels have just one hit so far, a one-out single by Aaron Sabato in the fourth.

Happy July. WTF is a tree?
Starting to look like the family might be able to stop by Zoom's place on the way to our camping excursion for an early supper tomorrow afternoon!
Walleye sandwich!
Ask for me if you do!
Ah, I've tried that before...
(This might legitimately be the last time I can give you grief for that!)
Or, speak to Mrs. zoomie -- even better
😉
Anyone have the heat map on CB Bucknor's game yesterday? I heard it was a "good one"
Also, suck it, Yanks
this takes my breath away
*impressed whistle*
