Minor Details has been posted, with some big performances and interesting games.
My first suggestion was that MLB move the draft and have the futures game Sunday night. But if they don't want to do that, they could move the futures game to Wednesday night. Give the kids a prime-time showcase and give baseball fans a game to watch.
If you can figure out how to make it a cash grab it's a done deal.
Make it a 7-game series. Done.
I finally got over 20 miles on a bike ride today, just ahead of the coming storm.
Staying out at a friend's house in So. Lake Tahoe for the last week - awesome place and awesome lake.
On Saturday night I was on the hook for dinner, so did Ramen Nacht, cooking for 11.
I was the Ramen head, but had two sous chefs helping, so I got all the cooks a tenugai, which was fun. Broth
Heated olive oil (fresh in a can from Todi, Italy)
Saute 3-4 tbsp minced garlic
Added finely chopped Chinese red peppers (these peppers are many years old but still have their flavor and kick)
3 loosely chopped seeded Jalapenos (for the visual)
Tossed in 3 chopped bunches of scallions, chopped thin
3 Chopped carrots (I cut off the ends but like to leave)
Added 1/2 c. hoisin, many liberal squirts of Sriracha, and easily a 1/4 c. of Tamari (GF soy sauce - we had 3 GF's in the group).
Add 3-4 boxes of beef broth, tasting along the way. If you feel it's thinning out, add more Sriracha, Chinese red or red pepper flakes)
Let 'er bubble and boil whilst working on the protein. Zeug
Montana Elk round steaks, sliced thinly
3-4 packages of various mushrooms (I used Shittake, Brown Beech, Oyster) broken apart loosely into pieces.
Throw these into the broth and cook until the meat is done. Noodles
Got wheat noodle disks from our local Asian grocery store - we also got a box of Millet noodles for the GF'ers.
I had a connection for elk steaks when I was in college. I usually made it into a stew, but sometimes I'd slice it thin and make a stir fry with it. Damn, it was good.
You still in the state, Bo? I'm in the next town up I-5 from the Sac airport.
Leaving early tomorrow morning RNO-SLC-MSP.
Supposed to leave RNO to SLC at 10:00. Flight pushed to 4:55PM. Having checked luggage, we Ubered to REI, bought swim goggles and shorts, and swam at this great place called Idlewood (with 50M outdoor lap lanes - swimming in the sun FTW!11010100!).
When I got out of the pool, NBBW says the flight is now at 1:30 - no text message! We scrambled back to the airport and barely made our flight.
Now sitting in the Delta club for 4 hours to go SLC-MSP, for a 9:059:55 10:15 flight. Weird, as the plane has landed already and its 8:20PM. Our speculation is that they must be waiting on crew members...
your baseball pitcher name is your grandfather’s first name and the last thing you bought i’ll go first mine’s Dominic Ottoman
Depending on how you want to count the check I just put in the mail to pay for an upcoming trip, my baseball pitcher name is either:
1. Herbert Israel
-or-
2. Harold Milk
1. Carl StateBarAssociationRenewalMembership
or if not that:
2. Alvin Orange
Welden Chick-fil-A
1. Donald Books
2. Jason Phonebill
1. George Ice
2. Russel Gas
Sounds like two relievers who should be hanging out in the Nasty Boys bullpen
I can hear the color guy saying, “aaannnd they’re going to the freezer to fetch the ice man”.
And to switch it up, “the ice man cometh”.
Is this one of those phishing scams hidden inside a quiz or name game? If so, you got me!
1. Dale Treetrimming
2. Bill Taco
John Don'tWantMyWifeToKnowHerAnniversaryGifts
Oscar/Alfred Vito (Jimmy John's #5)
I ended up with frank command strips.
False. Israel is not for sale (if anything, I think it does the buying).
Emil Cast Iron-Santoku
Do tell, which brand cast iron knife you buy?
Heh. Wouldn’t that be an instrument of kitchen mayhem.
My youngest sibling (born as I entered high school) is moving out of state & on her own for the first time. I bought her a lifetime pan & a blade that should last her a few decades on the same order.
Ha, right, I was scratching my head on that one. That makes more sense,
