Is the Guardians thing official or does that start in 2022? I don't care, I'm going with Guardians. Tonight is the 8th game of a pretty decent homestand for the Twins and they could win their fourth straight series with a victory tonight. Not that we have to look at the standings or anything but it's nice that the Twins are now just mediocre instead of terrible.
Speaking of terrible, Eli Morgan on the mound for the Guardians and he's been pretty bad this year including a 5 run in 4 innings performance last week. He gets just under a strikeout per inning and has a WHIP of 1.28. Should be easy pickings for the Twins potent bats. Bailey Ober for the Twins and let's see if he can put together a couple of back to back great outings. Did you know he's really tall too?
First pitch at 7:10p for what promises to be a pretty warm game.
Twins Lineup
Holy crap, Jorge, way to work the pitch count!
Longest AB for the Twins since they started keeping track in '88, tied for longest in MLB this season
Early farm report:
St. Paul scored three in the ninth to defeat Iowa 6-5 in the completion of a suspended game. Jose Miranda hit a two-run double to tie it and Tomas Telis singled home the deciding run. The regularly scheduled game is just getting underway.
Wichita trails Springfield 4-3 in the third. B. J. Boyd hit a two-run homer. Chris Vallimont is the starter for the Wind Surge.
Cedar Rapids trails Wisconsin 2-1 in the fourth. Alex Isola is 2-for-2. Ben Gross is pitching for the Kernels.
Fort Myers leads Dunedin 3-2 in the sixth. Alerick Soularie, making his Class A debut, is 2-for-3 with a triple. Jesus Feliz hit a home run.
Re: Guardians
As pointed out on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, "Guardians" is barely a step up from "Foster Parents".
It's not even specified if it's Legal Guardians or not.
Quality wasted rally. Well not done.
I think I like the name Guardians.
Do we have to keep Andrelton on the roster still?
That one ended up in Thomeville
That was an unusual double play!
I missed that Gordon was back with the Twins.
Replaced Larnach when he was sent down yesterday.
Another pretty fine showing from the mound for the Twins tonight
