Contreras was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, his third.

Devin Smeltzer pitched five shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks and striking out three.
Yennier Cano pitched a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out one.

The Saints are 6-3, tied for second with Indianapolis in the International League West, a half game behind Columbus.
