  1. Dylan Bundy: The 8th pitcher since the current mound distance was set in 1893 to have 1-or-fewer runs allowed and 1-or-fewer walks allowed in his first 3 appearances of the season.

Never got an answer to my question yesterday -- how many times has the first pitch of the game and the last pitch of the game been a HR?

  2. I had seen headlines about Kyle Schwarber going nuts on a bad strike call last night and passed it off, then saw a photo of him arguing and recognized who the ump was -- now I'm feeling bad for him.

    1. He was especially bad last night even for AH. Something like 85 percent accuracy on his calls. Also you can see Schwarber yelling to another umpire, "both sides are complaining."

      1. More SSS fun. Buxton has played 10 games. In three of them, he went a combined 0-12 with 8 strikeouts, no walks. In the other 7 games his slashline is .520/552/1.400

        1. If you go back to Labor Day last season, Buxton is hitting .324/.386/.755 in his last 153 PA.

In that time he has 15 singles, 15 doubles, and 15 home runs.

          1. Remember a few years ago, when there were people calling him "Buston" and saying the Twins should get rid of him and play Jake Cave in center field? I wonder what happened to those people.

            1. Also a lot of Zack Granite should be playing steam. Granite never played in the majors after the Twins traded him and he retired officially last year.

  3. I just realized this order of events…

Beltrán was the only player named in the commissioner's report.

The only thing that stopped us [in 2017] was something that was so illegal and horrific. … The only thing that derailed us was a cheating circumstance that threw us off.

Despite Cashman’s feelings on the Astros’ 2017 sign-stealing scandal in which Beltran was fingered as a key conspirator and in which Maybin was a World Series-winning team member, Cashman not only gave the signal to go forward with the two players [as broadcasting crew], but encouraged it.
