  1. I don't know your wife's problem, but I have bulging discs, and I can tell you that the physical therapy exercises have done wonders for me. Hope things work out for her, too.

    1. i think she just tweaked it good. ive done that more than once and was laid up for a day or two then better. i think that’s what we’re looking here. her first time though.

        1. Yessss.

I have mentioned before, but can recommend Stuart McGill's Back Mechanic approach and exercises for long-run maintenance. I have been doing the exercises (and daily walking) for about 4 months now.

Getting stabilized to the point where I was not incapacitated every evening took weeks. But I was able to wean myself off of daily NSAIDs, which I had been taking for nearly 20 years.

          1. I'm supposed to avoid NSAIDs but sometimes Advil is the only over the counter med that will get the job done.

            1. I cycled through the Cox-2 inhibitors , then went to Ibuprofen, then naproxen sodium.

Having read the literature on the Cox-2 heart issues, I can say that the early evidence was crap. But I still wasn't allowed to stay on them. Tooany doctors are statistically illiterate.

              1. Caveats I don't have heart disease and haven't had a heart attack. Cox-2 8nhibitors may have posted greater risks in those cases.

      1. Philosofette has been dealing with a bad back for a few years after tweaking it on vacation. The past year it has been getting worse, and she sought out chiropractic help. It went... okay? For a few months. 2 weeks ago she was at 10/10 pain and completely immobile for a day. Appointment probably leading to an mri scheduled for july.

    2. Chiropractors and Physical Therapists used to fight like cats and dogs back in the day. However, my wife (a PT) and my good buddy (a Chiropractor) both recommend using electrical stimulation (E-Stim) as part of healing the back. Mine was wrecked for about 3 weeks until I finally gave in and saw the Chiropractor (first time in my life). He started with E-Stim and some other electromagnetic device. Within a couple days I finally got some relief. Now it is my physical therapy exercises and more stretching to try to get it in a heathier spot.

    1. I saw this injury streak coming. It was the only thing that was going to threaten this team's chances, which made it inevitable.

  2. I always love news stories where the headline or tweet sounds like it was written by madlibs. I present
