Minor Details: Games of June 19

A big day for Mark Contreras.  Frank Nigro has a memorable high-A debut.  All games were decided by one run.

ST. PAUL 11, COLUMBUS 10 IN COLUMBUS

The Saints led 10-3, then withstood a six-run Clippers seventh.

Mark Contreras was 4-for-4 with a walk, three runs, and two RBIs.
Curtis Terry was 2-for-4 with a home run (his seventh), a triple, a walk, and two runs.
Jermaine Palacios was 2-for-5 with a double.
John Andreoli was 0-for-1 with four walks.

Starter Aaron Sanchez pitched 4.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks and striking out four.

The Saints are 33-32, in fifth place in the International League West, 1.5 games behind fourth-place Toledo, six games behind Nashville.

TULSA 3, WICHITA 2 IN TULSA (10 INNINGS)

Jeren Kendell singled home the deciding run.

Cole Sturgeon was 2-for-5.
DaShawn Keirsey was 2-for-5.

Casey Legumina pitched 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks and striking out three.
Andrew Cabezas struck out three in two perfect innings.
Denny Bentley struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.
Jordan Gore pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one walk and striking out one.

The Wind Surge is 33-29, in third place in the Texas League North, a half-game behind second-place Arkansas, 3.5 games behind Tulsa.

Frank Nigro singled home the deciding run in the ninth in his high-A debut.

Kennie Taylor was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and three runs.

Sean Mooney struck out six in five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks.
Matthew Swain pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and two walks and striking out one.

The Kernels are 41-22, in first place in the Midwest League West, 6.5 games ahead of Wisconsin.  The Kernels have clinched the first-half championship.
