  2. Pujols before the All-Star break: .215/.301/.376/.676, 6 home runs
    After: .319/.381/.696/1.076, 15 home runs

  3. I really don't have a problem with Judge winning the MVP, especially if he wins the triple crown and sets the AL home run record. That's a pretty historic season. What I do have a problem with is every "expert" trotting out the exact same argument for Judge and stating it like it was some bold take that no one else had thought of, when in fact all they're doing is jumping on the bandwagon.

    1. FanGraphs and Baseball Reference both have him with the highest WAR. Picking Judge is the safest of safe picks.

  4. Umpire Chris Conroy just went up in my estimation. He had the courage to ring up Aaron Judge on a checked swing.

  5. The Gophers might be legit. As someone who was raised on Nebraska football, I love watching a team that just punches you in the face repeatedly on offense, tells you they're going to run out down your throat, and then does it anyway. It's a different playback, but the underlying principles are the same... and so demoralizing to an opponent when it works.

    1. I thought it was all smoke and mirrors until today. They really might be good this year. Or at least good enough to win the West and get rolled by an Ohio State University.

  6. Joe Ryan leads the team in wins, is second in starters ERA, leads in innings, leads in strikeouts, and leads the starters in WHIP.

If you want to be technical about it, he's also tied for first on the team in shutouts and complete games.
