  1. we get to roll over three days, but I'm not sure what the point is if I'm always rolling three days over......

  2. I checked my bank account this morning and realized I got paid again today after getting paid last week. I assume it's because of the merger and the payroll system cutover that's coming 1/1. There's no extra money, I just get it a little early this time.

  3. Watching the Gophers and Syracuse tear the shit out of the Yankee Stadium turf. Gophers lead 14-7 at halftime.

    1. Unless your field has heat coils under the turf (think Lambeau or Target Field) probably shouldnt be playing on real grass in the Northern latitudes this time of the year

  4. On a play-to-play basis, Minnesota simply isn’t very good. They rank 25th overall with a -9.4% DVOA, where their average-y offense and defense are dragged down by atrocious special teams, which rank 28th. By EPA/Play they are almost perfectly average on offense, where they rank 17th with -0.0002, and on defense, where they rank 14th with +0.006. Everything in their underlying numbers screams that they’re a .500 team.

So where is the luck coming from?

Yes, the Vikings are frauds but what exactly does that mean?

A stat-sy Packers fan breaks down the Vikes.

    1. I didn't hear any Packers fans complaining that the Vikings underperformed their stats last year.

My take: the talent on most NFL teams is pretty equal so having a coach that knows how to manage the clock is the difference in many games. The Vikings finally have that.

      1. I’ve often thought that game plan, adjustments and coaching are way underrated in the NFL. Just looking at all the unexpected outcomes and dramatic shifts in the course of a game and season has me convinced that great players are important, but only so far. As examples…Lions, Jaguars this year. Teams can put things together.
