  1. Runner daughter took me to the matinee yesterday, and we found out we live in (Star Lord) Peter Quill's hometown. I wonder when the signs go up?

  2. Anyone use CLEAR at the airport? We're suddenly going to be doing a lot of air travel and I've been weighing the 185 dollars vs my patience and willingness to queue.

    1. I'm cheap and only travel a few times a year so I don't bother, but the security line at DEN last weekend took about 50 minutes to get through and avoiding that a few times would seem worth the money to me now.

      1. Pre-check is definitely worth it. It's $85 for 5 years or $17 a year. Even if you travel once a year, that's $8.50 per leg of your trip. Having to skip big lines, no taking off shoes, no removing laptap or ipad from your bag per flight is definitely worth a maximum of $8.50.

      2. Oops, Global Entry is only $100, not $150, but it gives you TSA Pre for five years and works for several international airports as well, and it works for land and sea entry into the country too. We've used it a couple times returning to the US and it only required facial recognition at a kiosk.

        1. The only thing with Global Entry versus just getting pre-check is that getting the in-person appointment for Global Entry has a very long lead time, sometimes months for popular areas. Pre-check appointments are relatively easy and more places to get them at. I actually got my Global Entry appointment at the Canadian Border up near Pigeon River since I was up there anyway. But I agree, if you are doing international travel, that is the way to go.

          1. We ended up getting PreCheck screened this morning. Amex covered the charge. Not enough time for global entry before the good dr heads over seas. The wait list was 6 months.

    2. And depending on your credit card situation, you may get reimbursement on TSA-pre or Clear or Global Entry. I have a couple “travel” cards that offer that benefit.
