Speaking of today's CoC title - if I'm remembering, someone here is a big John le Carre fan, right?
Everyone should be, but you're probably thinking of me. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is among my favorite books.
What is the in-world chronological order of the Smiley books (not necessarily the order in which they were written/published)?
I read "The Spy Who Came In From The Cold" years ago, and I'm pretty sure it's later in the in-world timeline
I think it would be TTSS, Honorable Schoolboy, Spy Who Came In/The rest where Smiley plays a small role/Smiley's People. The Karla Triology is the real heart, and that would be TTSS, Schoolboy, Smiley's People. I heartily recommend all 3.
Plus IIRC, the Smiley's People miniseries has Patrick Stewart as Karla.
Not sure I qualify as a Big Fan, but I've read pretty much all of his books at some point.
Due to the lack of any professional baseball games going on, I'm listening to the Oahe Zap take on the Fremont Moo in the Independence League, a summer collegiate wood bat league in the Dakotas, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Idaho.
While staying at my mom's the past week, I was entertained by several typed broadcasts of the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks playing a number of teams from Milwaukee, Lincoln, etc. It was a nice change of pace from *makes sweeping motion*
By the way, the Zap scored eight in the seventh to beat the Moo 12-7.
Eight years ago today
Game log.
J.R. Graham! Ryan O'Rourke!
Shane Robinson!
The Twins had some dudes back then
Mrs. Twayn and I were at that game, hard to believe it was that long ago.
Man that one was fun.
Another high schooler. Two high school bats and one pitcher.
