2023 Game 127: Minnesota Twins at Milwaukee Brewers

Kenta Maeda
vs
Corbin Burnes

I'm convinced the Twins cannot be more than six games above .500. If they win a bunch, then they will need to lose a bunch to never be too far above .500. They're back to +4 games so a win is again safe.

The extremely short "road" trip ends today. Texas is next on the schedule so they can bank some losses before the Guardians visit.

    1. His availability and defensive ability has been crucial, but Taylor is only 2 shy of his career best year in HRs (19 in 2017) in 92 fewer ABs, and is 55 points better than his career SLG and nearly 30 points higher than his career OPS.

    1. Indeed. Dick has taken to saying "not a strike, but called one." I have heard that multiple times the last week.

  1. Twins with enough cushion to survive a bad Pagán appearance. I think they're going to need to rebuild that cushion.

  2. Eddie is getting screwed by Blue.

He's been consistent. Consistently bad. Particularly on balls below the zone.

  3. Dick mentions the dream where you can't run to first base because your feet are in quicksand. I've had that dream many times. Or I can't catch simple fly balls. Or throw more than 10 feet. Or hit the broad side of a barn. I am completely incompetent at baseball at night

      1. And scored the eventual game winning run instead of possibly being doubled up on the Wiemer ground out to Correa.

  4. On the bright side, our roofer finished today (except for coming back to help install the new skylights when they show up in another month or so). And the framers finished framing for the new windows yesterday.
