My thought is that the reason Gallo has played so much, and hasn't been DFA'd now, is simply that Falvey and Levine can't admit they made a mistake.
All MLB contracts are guaranteed. The only bits that aren't guaranteed would be any performance incentives. I don't see any of those so his salary ($11 million) is it.
