  1. Thank you, and thanks to everyone. "Thoughts and prayers" may be a cliche in politics, but they are greatly appreciated in real life.

    Mom's funeral will be a week from today. Her real "home church", back in Delmont, closed a number of years ago, so we'll have the service in Geddes. That's where her membership is, and it's where she and Dad attended after the closure of the Delmont church until the travel became too much for them. I'll work on the obituary and pall bearers today. I've presided over a lot of funerals, as you know, but I can tell you it looks a lot different when you're on the other side of it.

    1. Mom made it to 98, and remained in remarkably good health until the last three weeks of her life. I find 2 Timothy 4:7-8 very appropriate. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
