Wow! What a two week span for Minnesota sports fans. Timberwolves running roughshod over the NBA Western Conference playoffs, a young and energetic MNUFC winning a bunch of games - including on the road this past Saturday against a real good Atlanta team. And of course the Minnesota Twins who have now won 13 out of their last 14 games. The last three of those wins against decent teams.
Emerson Hancock on the mound for the Mariners and he's one of those young guys who the book is still out on. Not a big strikeout guy, however. Bailey Ober up for the Twins and he keeps just doing his job. Last outing against the Whities wasn't super great but the bats and White Soxery picked him up.
Lousy weather in the morning should clear up for game time, so we can all relax in front of the radio this evening to take on a soothing baseball game after last night's late night basketball fun.
Freealonzo's "Take it to the Credit Union" surefire winner: Bailey Ober with six strikeouts today.
First pitch at 6:40
If you can't make it through a phrase of the National Anthem without taking a breath half-way through, it's a sign you're singing it too slowly.
Solo home runs don't hurt you. Of course, they don't help you, either.
*checks the boxscore again*
Huh. No hits
You're welcome
On the board!
In the lead!
Now that the ass bats have been banished this is a fun team to watch.
Ober notches his seventh strikeout in the top of the fifth.
You can take that to the Credit Union!
J. Jackson is steppin' out, thankfully
AW HECK
Caught stealing third for the third out?! I'm sure I missed something not having the audio
Probably not. It was just a bad baserunning play. The old saying is that you never make the third out at third base. The only thing I don't know is whether the decision came from the dugout or he did it on his own. I suspect the latter, but I don't actually know.
I like the tie but not exactly the how it happened.
Yikes, awful defense by Martin
Not making it easy tonight
Sure, what the heck - let's give up all that hard earned run differential while we're at it
