Or, more likely to be watched, the MLB Draft is tonight.

And this year Appel goes first. Cubs pick Kris Bryant and the Rockies select Jonathan Gray.
Twins pick Kohl Stewart.
One of the talking heads on MLBAM says, "a lot of people might not realize it, but the Twins have a good farm system." Uh, I think a lot of people realize that.
Sounds like one of those things where an announcer goes "You never hear about Joe Nathan, but he's been every bit as good as Rivera," and what they mean is "I haven't done any research on Nathan so I don't mention him as often as I mention Rivera."
And it's not like he's on ESPN. This is MLBN. The people watching are all interested in the MLB draft and maybe know a thing or two about the farm system rankings.
but a lot of people don't. There are a lot of Yankme fans.
Is Kohl going to be allowed at Target Field, or will he have to change his name?
They'll have to immediately traded him to Milwaukee.
I have to admit, i know nothing about the guy. Does he strike guys out?
In eight starts at St. Pius X, Stewart was 5-1 with a 0.18 ERA in 40 innings pitched with 59 strikeouts and 16 walks. #MNTwins— Rhett Bollinger (@RhettBollinger) June 6, 2013
That ERA looks backwards to me, but I have been looking at the Twins' starting staff numbers a lot lately.
he's a Mauer wannabee
from the Houston Chronicle:
Stewart, who grew up in Tomball, was a two-sport star at St. Pius High School and signed a football scholarship agreement in February with Texas A&M, where he also hopes to play baseball.
Stewart has played for the Banditos Baseball select team program since age 7 and was part of an under-13 team that won 155 consecutive games. He was named this month as Gatorade’s Texas high school player of the year for his 5-1 record, 0.18 ERA and 10 homers for St. Pius.
In football, he won the Touchdown Club of Houston’s private school player of the year award and in three years as a starter threw for 8,803 yards and 87 touchdowns at St. Pius.

I wonder how many he started. I'm predicting Tommy John before he plays for the Twins.
doesn't he have to get on the 25-man roster, get shelved for a couple of weeks with a sore arm, THEN be put on the DL, before he can get to the surgery?
They should just put him under the knife this summer, get it out of the way.
Come to think of it, i probably shouldn't ask if a high school pitcher strikes guys out. If they didn't, I'd be scared that they drink like a Milwaukee resident.
Damn phone. Drink = stink
did you borrow my phone, cheaps?
but that is an hilariously appropriate substitution....
That's one of two reasons why i didn't edit it.
I'd been reading "high upside, but HS arm, so... you won't really know until forever." This is also the guy playing football for Clemson, right?
I did learn from the email the Twins just sent me that his dual sports paying makes him enigmatic.
That's such an electronic-sounding analysis. It's about as telling as Vance Worley has plenty of gas left in the tank, as he has been consistent in giving up exactly two runs every inning or whatever Gameday says.
Texas A&M. Which might help with signing him as the current A&M QB just won the Heisman, as a freshman.
Texas A&M I think.
Keith Law's scouting report said he has higher potential upside than Appel or Gray... but he has a funky delivery so he might take an extra year or so of development time. Hm. Hopefully they can sign him quick and get him into the system.
Berrios was a high school arm drafted in the supplemental round last year. I feel pretty confident that he's going to be a good one, so we'll see about Stewart. Throws 95 right now and his slider is considered by at least some to be his best pitch.
The Royals just drafted Hunter Dozier. I'll admit to being a bit confused reading that name.
Stewart is a Type 1 diabetic apparently. Not fun.
TWINS BASEBALL!!
Yahoo Game channel reads:
- E. Escobar safe at first on third baseman M. Moustakas' throwing error, J. Carroll to second
- J. Mauer grounded out to shortstop, J. Carroll to third
- J. Willingham struck out, reached on wild pitch
- J. Morneau struck out looking
- R. Doumit homered to deep right, J. Willingham scored
I'm so confused.
The score is 3-0, that's all that really matters.
Clete in center field.
And doesn't strike out in his first plate appearance!
Damn, beat me to it.
mumble mumble sean mumble PED mumble unfair advantage
g-d mlb.com won't load the radio app (and crashed the Gameday) here at work. So I missed all the TWINS BASEBALL! in the first.
mlb.tv is having some issues right now and I can't get it on either device.
And Clete doesn't strike out! Improvement!
I just notice CLETE DIDN"T STRIKE OUT!!
Triple-play time?
Nice of the Gentlemen to play station-to-station baseball.
Pelfrey is good
at giving up runs
I strongly disapprove of Pelfrey on this team.
Anthony LaPanta filling in for Dick Bremer
I missed the opening, but did we have a 'well, we live!' moment?

walks are pussy.
Real Men get HBP.
Willingham up to double digits in HBP
Willingham doing his best to catch up to Choo in HBP.
Record for consecutive games with a HBP is 6, by Carlos Quentin (duh). Apparently Plouffe! set the Twins record earlier this year on April 5 through 7.
Edit: Wait, that was since 1993. Checking earlier years...
Edit2: He tied the record.
Unintentional intentional unintentional walk to Joe.
I would appreciate a little helicoptering in this at-bat.
not that little. But it will have to do for now.
Justin Morneau looked like a lefty version of Vlad Guerrero
I have a taste for salami.
turns out you were craving a Slim Jim.
Well, way to Bert that up, guys.
UNO. outmatched
My account won't work. This is bogus.
My MLB.tv account, that is.
I see the officials are off to a good start here in the Finals.
LaPanta sticking with the Flori-MAHN pronunciation, despite Bert saying it differently. To be fair, it's not like Bert is the best authority.
did I hear that FSN is going broadcast a Cedar Rapids game?
Yep. Noon on Monday.
Could that be why Buxton hasn't been promoted yet?
Traitor Klete is having one heck of an atbat
but ends in a K
My feed is back!
Just in time to see that. Boo-urns.
There we go. Now Clete strikes out.
THERE'S the Clete strikeout we know and love
The Twins could stop stranding guys any day now, please.
Didn't strand any that inning!
Time to start shaving some ho's
OOOOOOH, we're 2/3 of the way there
OOO-OOOH, livin' on a prayer
6th inning alarm
and Parm with a terrible throw, missed the cutoff man
I blame Bon Jovi
LaPanta's "FloriMAHN" is getting annoying
is there a 7th inning alarm graphic?
Hicks would have caught that
boo 🙁
sorry about that, guys. My bad.
sheesh
Ok, I'm leaving again. Back to the NBA.
This inning es no bueno.
oh sheesh
The Twins were clearly distracted by the draft last night. The draft is over until next year. Therefore, we'll just have to settle for 131-31!
