Melbourne wins on a home run by Harman.  Perth dies with their boots.

MELBOURNE 5, BRISBANE 3 IN MELBOURNE

TwinsLogan Wade (Brisbane) was 0-for-4 with an RBI.

Brisbane:  David Sutherland was 3-for-4 with an RBI.  Joshua Roberts was 0-for-1 with three walks and a run.  Ryan Searle (Cubs) pitched a complete game, giving up five runs on eight hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

Melbourne:  Jared Schlehuber (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run (his seventh), driving in two.  Brad Harman was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his seventh.  Eric Marzek struck out six in three shutout innings, allowing no hits and one walk.

The game:  Schlehuber homered in the first inning to give Melbourne a 1-0 lead.  Brisbane tied it in the second on a run-scoring ground out and took the lead in the third when Sutherland singled in one and a double play scored another, giving Brisbane a 3-1 lead.  Schlehuber doubled in a run in the sixth to cut it to 3-2, but it stayed there until the eighth.  A single and a walk put two men on for Melbourne with two out.  Harman then hit a three-run homer to give Melboure a 5-3 lead.  The side struck out for Brisbane in the ninth.

CANBERRA 5, PERTH 4 IN CANBERRA

Perth:  Corey Adamson (San Diego) was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI.  George Barber was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run.  Eric Massingham pitched two perfect innings with one strikeout.

Canberra:  Jack Murphy was 2-for-4 with a walk and two doubles, scoring once and driving in one.  Casey Frawley was 0-for-2 with three walks and a run.  Anthony Claggett pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts.

The game:  Murphy doubled in a run in the first to put Canberra up 1-0.  Perth came back with three in the third on a sacrifice fly, a Brandon Tripp single, and a wild pitch.  Perth added a fourth run in the fourth on Adamson's RBI single to make it 4-1.  It stayed 4-1 until the eighth.  Canberra opened the inning with a double and two singles to make it 4-2.  A bunt moved the tying run into scoring position and an error scored two to make it 4-4.  Another error brought home the go-ahead run.  Perth went out in order in the ninth.

SYDNEY 4, ADELAIDE 0 IN ADELAIDE

Sydney:  Trent D'Antonio (Miami) was 1-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Jacob May (White Sox) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.  Connor Whalen struck out six in 5.1 innings, giving up two hits and four walks.

Adelaide:  Joe Sclafani (Houston) was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Darren Fidge pitched five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

The game:  A two-out error plated the first run of the game for Sydney in the third inning.  In the fifth, D'Antonio doubled in a run and came around to score on a Mitch Dening single to make it 3-0.  Guy Edmonds singled in another run in the eighth.  Adelaide's biggest threat came in the sixth, when a single and two walks loaded the bases with one out, but a strikeout and a popup ended the inning.
