Gibson starting. Twins with the same lineup as yesterday against another lefty. Molitor learned from Gardy that if you score a bunch of runs one game, don't change it the next, I guess.
I probably should have put more effort in the game log.
Since its University of Minnesota night at Target Field, I throw out this question:
Paul Molitor or Dave Winfield, which former Gophers player would you rather have on your team?
No one answered, but I would take Molitor's versatility over Winfield's stability. Molitor could play higher up on the defensive spectrum and was a more dynamic player ... when healthy.
Winfield in his prime was quite a force.
I lean Molitor as well, but it's a choice you really can't lose on
When Molitor got his 3,000th hit, Dad was explaining the significance to me as I was 8 or 9 at the time. I kept thinking his last name was "Paulmolitor" like Palmolive, the floor cleaner. I couldn't figure out what his first name was.
Gibson gets The Pitchers Best Friend to get out of that jam.
out =(
boo
A normal RFer easily makes that play that Hunter turned into a leaping highlight play that the FSN announcers now have to talk about for the rest of the inning.
The scouting report on Adam Eaton is "If the ball is hit to him, its free range on the base paths because he cant throw"
Dazzleman special! TWINS BASEBALL!!
Kennys "Wheels" Vargas. Advanced to third on a medium deep fly ball to CF, advanced home on a wild pitch.
Yeah, I like that sequence.
We get good Gibby tonight?
He is facing the White Sox. So this maybe a mirage.
Well, there's a reason I picked him as a streamer in Half Bakef.
Almost six complete at 71 pitches. Three strikeouts, no walks. So yeah, good Gibson tonight.
Make that four strikeouts, no walks, 73 pitches, in six innings.
Didn't they show a stat a start or two ago that showed that Gibson has a bigger difference in ERAbetween "good" starts and "bad" starts than any other major league pitcher?

Heh, that's a pretty sizable difference in ERA.

All that extra base running went to Vargas' head. He was thrown out by 15 feet.
Does Molly send Gibby out there for the 9th?
I hope so.
grumble grumble
I almost feel sorry for the Sox tonight.
Ha, I'm not even close to keeping a straight face when I say that. Good game, guys!
Good game for the Home Team.
